No bra with the dress??

lorelli992, on August 27, 2017 at 8:21 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

So my wedding dress is open back, and during the apt I took my bra off to try the dress. However, since the sample size was too big, I didn't feel very, well, secure up top.

I know there are backless bras or cups sewn into dresses or just going without any support as options.

What are y'all doing?

If it helps, I'm a 32DD, so I definitely need some support.

@033118 - have you tried that on yet? Just curious how supportive it feels compared to a typical, strapless, underwire.

I've never looked at bras more than I have since getting my dress. lol. Mine is backless and low cut in the front. I am a 36C and need support. Not sure if the cups sewn in are gonna cut it, I'm thinking of a longline bra as well, but not sure where to start.

I have a lace sheer back and sheer deep v-neck. My girls are 38DDD. I never in my life thought I'd go without a bra while wearing a dress but, lo and behold, sewn in cups here! I had my second fitting with them and it's working like a charm.

Are longlines typically more open in the back?

My dress has a super low back (like just above showing my actual butt). I didn't even have cups sewn in, I'm just going braless. I'm also a B cup, so take this with a grain of salt.

Even if cups don't already come in the dress, a professional seamstress can sow in cups. That's what mine did and I'm a 34DD

Thanks, @JuneBride! Those were supportive enough for you? I know a seamstress can do it, I've just always done bras with backs and underwire. Just a new concept for me, I guess.

Getting cups sewn in. My dress is strapless but I am also a smaller bra size but it felt most comfortable that way for me!

Well doesn't help that the dress had Madonna looking cups in it. But I tried it on without a bra. I really think cups would be good enough. It's a size 8, so I dunno if I looked bigger in the picture but I hope they look good when I get the new cups are in the dress.. if not tape will be my savior

I've seen dresses where a strapless bra has been stitched in with the back straps cut off - more support than just cups sewn in, could that be an option for you?

I got a bra from Dillards it has the sticky wings and gel sticky stuff at the top of the cups. I'm a 36DD and it does add support.

My dress doesn't have a low back, but I hate bras. I had cups sewn in, and it's a great fit now with plenty of support.

Cups sewn in. Probably could have gotten away with just going braless, since I'm a B cup, but figured my 49 year old boobs could use all the help they can get.

OP, the cups she sewed in were supportive enough! I felt totally covered/structured. It felt like a regular bra. However, mine wasn't completely no back-it had a back, it was an illusion back so I was still like inside it, not sure if that helped.

I am really picky about feeling supported-I don't wear strapless bras even :/
