No bouts or pocket squares?

Princess Consuela, on November 8, 2015 at 11:17 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Why yes, my wedding is in 5 days and I don't know the answer to this yet. Originally the guys were going to have cool pocket squares instead of boutonnières. Now, however, because FH is a giant procrastinator and still hasn't even finalized the guys' tie situation, he is thinking well just skip the pocket squares. What do you guys think? Will it be weird to not have any accessory to distinguish the groomsmen?

You can pick up pocket squares anywhere. I'd go grab some.

You can pick up pocketsquares at any department store, even a place like Marshalls/TJ Maxx. I think that the GM need to have something distinguishing them, either pocket squares, bouts or both, from the other guests who will also be in suits.

When I saw the guys put together with bouts and pocket squares, I had them ditch the squares. They didn't look good and made it too matchy matchy. I don't think it was a big deal to not have them.

Thanks for the input! I just talked with FMIL, who's out shopping with FH right now and hopefully convinced her. But if it doesn't happen, oh well!

I am team no pocket squares, i honestly think most suits look better without. Also I have no doubt people know who the groom is, he wont "blend in" with other guests. With you date fast approaching I would focus on the big deal items to worry about.

If it doesn't happen, no worries. Standing up with you will distinguish enough. =]

I think it's fine; I've noticed many of my GM and G without either...

If you have time to pick up a pocket square for them quickly, I would. If not, it's not going to be the end of the world if they don't have anything.

I left the bouts in the car and nobody noticed until after the ceremony! So no, no one will miss them.

If he's not doing something that affects only him and his wedding party, I wouldn't do it for him.

I was at mens warehouse yesterday, and they had "ensembles" already put together in a box - patterned tie, complimenting pocket square, and lapel pins - some pins had little flowers, some had bowties. They were all in a box together. I don't know your colors, but they had different ones. Could be an option.
