No Alcohol

I cannot drink for medical reasons, not even a little bit. So as the bride I don't see why I would have or pay for something I can't consume at my wedding. My fiance gets migraines from drinking and doesn't want it either. Our parents think it's weird to not serve alcohol, did anyone else go...

I actually just went to a wedding this weekend that didn't have alcohol and it was a fine wedding. I think it depends on the type of wedding you want. It is cheaper, you can't drink it so it sounds like a no-brainer! But, what about your guests. Do you want people to be dancing? Do you want people to stay the full time? If that is the case, you may want to have at least SOME alcohol. People who may not feel comfortable dancing need some liquid courage. Realistically, you are throwing the party for other people to celebrate you. They want to celebrate you too! Ultimately, it is up to you. We ended up leaving the wedding at 7 pm because it just wasn't fun when I was the only person on the dance floor. If you are really don't want alcohol, think about doing a brunch or early afternoon wedding. It would make it a little less awkward.

We are not serving alcohol at our wedding either. We are doing a brunch wedding so we are having coffee, "sparkling orange juice" and water. I don't think there is anything wrong with having a dry wedding, plus you save a ton of money!

We didn't have alcohol at my first wedding due to venue restrictions. We posted it on our website that there would be no alcohol served so it didn't catch our guests by surprise. We had an afternoon wedding, and at the reception only had tea, lemonade, and water, iirc. We didn't mess with a signature drink, and as far as I know, it wasn't missed either.
