No alcohol allowed at venue

Zita , on August 24, 2016 at 9:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 55

HI I need some ideas the venue we chose for our wedding doesn't allow alcohol but we're set on having our wedding there because it's so beautiful and we're able to to both the ceremony and reception there for a good price we were thinking about the bar in a jar idea as a wedding favor for our guests as they leave

    You posted this twice.

    I'd pick a different venue.

If they don't allow alcohol, they probably won't allow your 2oz bottles of alcohol.

Have the ceremony there and move the reception somewhere you can properly host your guests.

I'm sure there are other beautiful venues that allow alcohol. I would pick another venue.

Yes because giving your guests an open container is a fabulous idea when they are getting in a car.

You posted this twice, please remove one. As I stated in your other post: I would suggest finding another venue for your reception, and "bar in jar" is not going to substitute for alcohol at your wedding. If you are absolutely set on having a dry wedding (which I would not advise, unless it is for cultural/religious reasons), have a morning/early afternoon wedding. Also, realize that dry weddings have a different vibe, there is generally less dancing and guests don't stay as long.

Alcohol is more important than venue hands down.

I'd pick another venue. Unless it was at a church, I'd find this really strange if I was a guest.

It's okay to post twice sometimes you want other people opinion. But I think that is such a cute wedding favor. Yes your guest will leave earlier due to no alcohol but it's such a cute favor!

I don't see the venue allowing that. If I was a guest at a dry wedding with alcohol favors, I'd open it during the reception.

Karastan, posting twice doesn't get you other people's opinions, it's on the same forum.

Different venue. One of my brothers couldn't have alcohol so the majority of people hung out across the street at my sisters house where the booze was. He also self catered... Which isn't relevant but makes me wonder how we are related

If I went to a wedding that didn't allow alcohol I would eat and leave. I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one.
