Nj/pa/ny - Non Banquet receptions for less than $150pp??

Michelle , on January 28, 2018 at 7:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hey! I’m looking for a unique or rustic venue for our reception. I pretty much just want a place where we can dance, drink and eat delicious food. No need for banquet halls. I also won’t have a bridal party. We are looking to have roughly 160 people but want to spend less than $150pp. Any ideas? Saturday or Friday evening. Also we don’t mind what time of year. We live in Hoboken but have family every where in the tri-state area. So we don’t mind traveling.

We are getting married at FEAST at Round Hill in Washingtonville NY. It’s a rustic and unique venue! On a Friday in November we are paying 105 a person!

Have you checked out any of the wineries in south Jersey? There are some very beautiful ones and I imaging the further south you go the cheaper it gets. Since South Jersey is a different state and all. Smiley laugh

We are getting married at Stone House at Stirling Ridge in Warren, NJ in April. If you are willing to get married in the “off season” you can get great deals. April at our venue is $180pp but I know that January weddings are much cheaper. Check out Stroundsmore Inn in PA or Perona Farms bear Sparta, NJ.

We got married at The Buck Hotel in Bucks County PA. Their staff was amazing, food was great and prices were awesome. They are a restaurant with a separate banquet entrance but our price was I think $85 per person of open bar, cocktail hour, food, cake, center pieces and a DOC for the day off.

Is it at the Matayunk Brewery? I received a quote from them yesterday. Looks pretty cool. Or did you find a better place?

I’m getting married at the Anthony Wayne House in Paoli PA (about 30 mins outside Philly). It’s a glass tented venue (think greenhouse) with a large yard for ceremony, fire pit and yard games. They are super flexible with creating your own menu within a particular budget.

I was going to look at Manayunk Brewery but had friends look there previously. Awesome venue but parking is very limited. Since we have many locals and would expect many people to drive (rather than stay at the hotel and take a shuttle, which also wouldn’t be nearby), we opted out of seeing it.

    Hi Michelle,

I HIGHLY suggest looking into Waterloo Village in Stanhope, NJ. I just booked my wedding there for this September and as soon as I saw the venue I fell in love. This historic and rustic locations is catered by master chefs, includes countless decor items (mason jars/lighting/table settings, etc.) and plenty of room for a DJ and dancing. There is several places for the ceremony, a bridal cottage and the reception area with giant fire places and rustic decor. They can easily accommodate 160 people or more and they host weddings/private events/brunches all year. Depending on the season and the day of the week they also have discounts which is great for a bride on a budget. The atmosphere is beautiful and there is plenty of personal touches that can be added to its already rustic charm to make it your own. I can't wait to have my special day there!
