Nipple covers?

emjo, on January 10, 2019 at 3:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 14
I am going dress shopping this weekend and I was wondering if it's okay to just wear nipple covers/petals instead of a strapless bra. I love the idea of backless dresses so I know I would have to take off a strapless bra, but I'm a bit uncomfortable with the idea of being completely topless. Is it silly to wear the nipple covers for modesty? I already own reusable ones so I don't need to buy them. I have seamless nude slip shorts so I don't have underwear lines. Advice? What did you wear when you tried on backless dresses?

No, I don't think so. Trying on dresses is not modest at all, so anything you can do to make you feel more comfortable is great!

I wore slip shorts and brought a strapless bra to change into before I tried on dresses. I ended up having to take off the bra because the dress I ended up getting was low cut in the back and the front was a super low v shape. Wish I thought to get covers before I went, although the 2 ladies I worked with were very professional and easy to work with and I didn't feel uncomfortable like I thought I would.

Wear the petals. I didn’t and I was mortified at how invasive wedding dress shopping was. After the first few dresses you get a bit more comfortable.

You could get a bra like this, it hooks down at the bottom in the back for backless dresses. I wore one to my prom a million years ago.

I went dress shopping to a few stores. One place gave me a corset to wear while trying on dresses. The second store had suggested that I go braless but told me my comfort was all that honestly mattered to them. The third store said it was entirely up to me of what I wanted to do. I agree with the other brides, you should do whatever you feel comfortable doing. You can always remove a strapless bra while trying kn a backless dress to get the full effect. Of what it would look like. I always say it's better to be over prepared than unprepared. Have fun looking at dresses!!!

Exactly this. I just went braless, but it's totally up to you and what you're comfortable with.

I wore a strapless bra and a nude thong when I went dress shopping. I ended up taking off the bra because my dress is backless and has mesh on the sides. I don't think that would be weird to wear nipple covers. You're going to be basically naked in front of the lady helping you get into the dress. Nothing they probably haven't seen before.

    Great idea and Good luck!

I considered nipple covers but ended up just being fully topless. These ladies were helping me choose something important and I didn't want them to think I didn't trust them. They must see boobs all the time anyway.

I just went in with a sports bra :p But I second the pasties, if you feel the need for modesty then go for it!

Yes it's up to the individual I guess. I couldn't wear a bra due to the style of the dresses I was choosing but if you could wear a sports bra that us good. Did you have pasties on under it?

Naw i didn’t have anything under the sports bra besides skin haha Sports bras, I find, give a bit of support for the girls, but are thin enough that they don’t really affect the wear of the dress if you’re trying to imagine the dress without it. And they give a bit more coverage towards modesty if you’re that against showing any side or underboob to the attendants helping you that day. My dresses that I was trying on were sweetheart necklines so idk if that’s something you’re trying as well.

Yes that seems a good idea. I couldn't wear a bra as it didn't work and with no pasties on there was no modesty but as I said before I didn't want them to think I didn't trust them by wearing pasties.
