Nice way to ask guests to leave?

Future Mrs. Lowder, on February 10, 2020 at 9:50 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
We are planning on having our reception end around 4pm so that everything can be cleaned up before the sun sets (winter wedding, so the sun sets early). Is there a nice way for us to make guests aware we would like everyone to start clearing out around that time?

Maybe post a timeline somewhere in the wedding?

We are putting a big chalk board new the reception entrance so everyone can see. Smiley smile

If you have a DJ, he can make an announcement for you

I’ve thought about doing something similar to this.

It depends on when it starts, but most people will leave shortly after dinner or when the food ends. You can announce last call, have a last dance, etc indicating to get out people!

You can use the sign and then also make a "grand exit" of you and FH from the location. You also had an earlier post regarding no alcohol...this alone will help people leave early. Will you be offering any kind of food? Honestly, if you want a quick reception, have the ceremony then have a cake and punch "reception" which will be more like a receiving line, and people will fly out of there no issues.

Add it to your details card and website. You can also have an announcement made shortly before. Have a sign with the timeline of events.

Just tell them in a memo via invite or email. Or say at the beginning that you have to leave for time limit and money reasons
