I am so upset, beyond words, and trying to think logically and clearly about how to proceed with my wedding.

Our date is October 18, 2020, in Westchester New York.
I don’t know whether to wait and see how things go, or the other option which would be to postpone and reschedule.
If I postpone and reschedule — I would choose a date in Spring / Summer 2021. It breaks my heart but i don’t want to be foolish and assume that by early months 2022 that all of this will have subsided.
There won’t be a vaccine by October 2020 - that we know. Until we get a vaccine...all of this is just elusive. So up in the air. Any other New York (NYC METROPOLITAN OCTOBER BRIDES?! — anyone going through the same? How are you holding up?)
Love and light to all.

Sorry for late response- I am on the same boat my twin bride.
I emailed venue and asked to get reimbursed. They said that since I am a fall bride October 17, 2020 my wedding will go on. They also offered January-April 2021 at no charge. I will postpone for next year. I hope by then there is a vaccination and action plan in place. What have you decided?

    All the best!

Our wedding date is October 10th and we live on Long Island. We are definitely getting married on that day, we spoke to our church. As for our reception we haven’t made a decision yet. We are waiting until July sometime to see what happens. If we have to reschedule our reception we will, but our ceremony date stays as is.

I’m 10/10 in New Rochelle but I live in NYC. I emailed my vendors today and asked what their policies/plans are. I only have my deposit put down for our reception venue and haven’t signed the contract. I want to see what they say bc I don’t want to start putting money in and if we have to postpone I don’t want the money to go to waste. So hopefully if thats what happens, they’ll put that money to the new date.

I’m seeing what my vendors say and then making a decision mid July. I already bought my invitations and my favors with our date on them so I hope it wont go to waste.

Update* i just spoke to my venue and they said weddings are considered phase 4... the coordinators will be furloughed until then. i dont know how outdoor graduations of 150 people are allowed in june but a small outdoor wedding isnt. very frustrating

I now told my venue I would like to push my date to next year. Unfortunately our date isn't available so I'm devastated. We will be going to a park to get married in a small ceremony

I’m a fall NYC area bride and we finally decided to postpone to June 2021. I couldn’t handle the stress and I couldn’t bare the thought of anyone potentially getting sick with this virus all because they attended my wedding. I probably won’t feel comfortable until there’s a vaccine! Happy to talk to anyone who needs support through making this decision!
