New year's eve wedding/centerpieces

LuckyinLove, on December 29, 2008 at 7:30 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

We have changed our wedding date to new year's eve because I can't imagine anything more beautiful that starting your new life in the new year. I love Renaissance and mythological creatures especially dragons. Many don't realize that dragons are symbol of love. I want to incorporate all these things into my wedding. I want original and creative ideas for my centerpieces.

I am not into having something that everyone else has. All suggestions are appreciated.

Decorate the arch with branches, green moss, lights, crystals, butterflies and flowers, make the reception look like an enchanted forest, dry ice effect!!!!, centerpieces could be tall glass containers, branches such as manzanita or curly willow painted in dark green, glue green moss to the branches, and have crystals hanging from them, add flowers in your colors, go to a ceramic store and learn how to paint dragon containers, they come in all sizes, you could even make the favors using these dragons, place them on the tables and have lots of crystals, glitter, think lights, shiny, dry ice, fantasy. It is a great day to get married, Congratulations!!!

Thanks, I like the idea for the arch. We also thought about putting a treasure box on each table that is "protected by a dragon" that contains candy, champagne bubbles etc. I thought it was a cute idea so that the favors could double as the centerpieces. Either that or just have one big one set up on a table. I also like the idea of different size vases with flowers floating inside topped with a floating candle. I really want to incorporate my Renaissance and mythical theme while incorporating some new year's eve favors.

With a Renaissance theme I think rich fabrics, Maybe incorporating a nice red or dark blue velvet or velour you could add a texture and more romance. If you use branches think about hanging glass votive candles the soft lighting will add to the magic of your theme. Congratulations!
