We are getting married December 31st 2018, we decided this day because new year, new life. Most of everyone likes to dance, let loose and have a great time with the people they love on that day. Plus their is going to be a lot of glitter and they will have some awesome photo booth pictures. My thing is that I'm just nervous, we have the venue but that's all. I'm afraid that we won't find a church that will marry us that day or find a not so expensive dj or photographer. I know that I have a year to plan this but ti.e goes so fast. Has anyone got married on New Year's Eve?? Any tips??

The two NYE’s weddings I worked both ended at 1am. Ceremonies were at 6:30.

I am getting married on NYE this year. We only experienced higher prices in the ceremony venue and it was only $100.00 more than non-holiday. Our ceremony is not until 6:30. We have a 5.5 hour reception, it ends at 12:30. People still can go to the bars if they want or at the hotel. We booked our block for our hotel a year and a half early and locked in prices for under $200.00.

We are offering stations and passed apps and just tons of food. It will be an open bar of all top tiered boozed. We knew going in with a holiday that people may not be able to come.

If it is something you are interested in, I would say look into it. I think we lucked out with it also being on a Sunday, and not a Monday.

We did so much research before hiring our vendors. We knew we wanted specific things and we spent a long time looking and making sure they were exactly what we wanted.

I don't have any tips for you. Bit, I would plan on spending more than you usually would for all of your vendors. It's a holiday and if they are working for your wedding they are missing time with their families. They will expect to be paid well.

We thought about it and then decided on 12/1/18 instead mainly because vendors were available but much more expensive. Good luck!

Maybe I'm out of the loop but WHAT is a "creamed drink?" Does that mean blended? Doesn't sound like something I'd want After cake and champagne!

ETA: just found out. I've NEVER heard that term ever

I would definitely note that it says either champagne toast or table wine for dinner. If it's a 5.5 hour party and 4.5 hour bar, that means the bar is shut down for dinner. Champagne isn't really something I want with my dinner.
