New last name on stamp???

Tiffany, on June 9, 2019 at 4:44 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 23
Hi brides, so I’m ready to send my invites out and I wanted to get a stamp with our names and address to make it easier. Can I use my new last name or do I have to put both out last names? We get married in 4 months so I didn’t want to get a stamp I’d never use again.

I am making labels and just putting our first names I may buy a stamp after the wedding. But word has a address label maker so I used that.

It wouldn't be proper to use your new last name before the wedding, especially for wedding invitations.

I personally think it’d be alright to use your new last name but I see why people could think it would be bad to do so

I did my name last name. I didn’t see the point in paying for a stamp I’d only get to use for a few months.

Depends, some mail carriers will not place the mail unless the name matches the mailbox, you might want to call your post office and ask if they'll still deliver mail under your new and maiden name.
I did labels with both our names for before and I'll probably get a stamp after.

If you're dead set on a stamp I would just do first names that way you can use it indefinitely.

We made a stamp with his last name for return labels. We used it for both save the date and invites. Even though I'm not changing my name I'll use it for thank you cards too.

It was like $12 on zazzle. That was a lot faster than me handwriting everything. That would have taken days.

I don't have a name on my mailbox, and my FH doesn't have his name on anything related to my house (where he lives), but he still gets mail here. That may be the case in an apartment complex, but not for houses.

On my return labels I used the Future Mr. & Mrs. Mulligan.

I wouldn’t find it appropriate for the wedding invitations. But that’s just me. True you might never use again the spam again with your old last name but who mails stuff anymore? I sure don’t so you might not even use the one with your new name anyways.

Our invitations had are names typed up on them and we used both of our last names. I did already but a stamp with our first initials and last name but will use that for wedding thank you cards

I've had mail sent back from houses because of it. Surprisingly I've never had it happen in apartments.
But if you don't even have a name on the box then I suppose it doesn't matter. Do what you want.

Your welcome! I actually got my address labels for free through Shutterfly as well. They often offer address labels for free so I got them then. If you download the app they offer more freebies too.

We got a stamp and just put our first names on it for this exact reason!
