Ohh I met Serena Star at a bridal show, and she was really sweet! I also attended a wedding with that DJ, and he was awesome - the dance floor was packed all night.

Our wedding is next month, and here are my recommendations so far:

Photography: For our photography, I really felt overwhelmed trying to pick one. I went to a few bridal shows and could see what style I liked and didn't. I ended up searching on WW, and opening up a whole bunch of tabs with local photographers in our budget range. I looked through each gallery and narrowed it down just by photos.

My partner and I met with Laura Napoli Photography (You can search and contact her on here on WW and try to get that $25 through WW if you book her), at her office, and she is the absolute SWEETEST!!!! She is very professional, experienced, patient and kind. I felt a calmness with her, and we put a deposit down on the spot. We also had an engagement session with her as well. I really recommend doing this if you or your partner is nervous about being in front of the camera. I was very anxious, but felt very comfortable at the end of the shoot. It helped me see what poses I did and didn't like of myself, so come wedding day, I can adjust accordingly. She really, really loves her job, and it shows in her work.

Make up: JayGlam - Janay is from the South Jersey area, but does travel. She works with woman of all colors, and ages too. You can look her up on FB, IG, or on her website JayGlam (she posts her services & pricing on her website.)

I had her do my make up for our engagement session, and she came to my house and had everything ready to go. After she left, I was able to just get dressed at home, and go right to the session. I also had my bridal trial done on the same day as my bridal shower, and people were blown away. I got so many compliments. She killed it.

We’re still on the fence. I wanted to do a photo/video montage during the father daughter dance but it’s like 1300 for the media package and it just feels like a lot for a 3 minute song 😕 I wanted the custom monogram too but I didn’t put it in our initial contract. I love how flexible they are because I have a feeling I will be changing my mind! Lol

I feel the same way! Right now we are planning to do the four hour reception and music for the ceremony since were getting married on the beach. We are also thinking about adding dancing on the clouds. Yes, i love how they are so flexible, I will be right there with you changing my mind lol! I am horrible at asking questions, is there anything else you asked them?

I did inquire about doing live musicians through them because that's originally what we had wanted for the ceremony and cocktail hour, but it ended up being easier and more in our price range to stick with just the DJ'ing for everything. What I did find interesting though was something I never thought of - live music is not seamless! It may seem common sense but I never thought of it! He told me that with live musicians the music at cocktail hour will start AT BEST 10 or 15 minutes after the guests have gotten there for it, because it takes time for them to move to the cocktail hour space and set up. So until then it's just...silence Smiley winking With the DJ, it is near seamless. So finding that out was cool.

Most of our questions in our meeting were aimed at their services and what they offer - the media package was a big one for us, as was uplighting, etc. Just trying to get a feel for all the different things and how they operate. They are a preferred vendor at our venue, as I know they are with yours, so he knew a lot about our space and so I didn't have too many questions about logistics, like what time they plan on being there to set up, where they would set up, etc.

Yeah and that's what I liked about our appointment too he spoke to us specifically based on our venue and answered most of the questions I would have had. I just feel like I read all these forums and people are like ask this, this, and this and I didn't. I didn't feel like I needed too. Yeah I always thought a live musician would be cool, but it is our if our budget so we are just going to do him for our ceremony which I'm fine with and I like better! I def left this appointment way happier then our last!! Did you officially sign your contract?!!! Did you ask for a written one a head of time so you could see everything or just waited until you said okay let's move foward and then they sent it?
