New Initials Dilemma

So this isn't the biggest deal in the world but it has been on my mind for as long I've known I wanted to marry my SO.

My first name starts with an A and my last name with an S, I've always wanted to keep my last name once I got married and have it hyphenated along with my husbands... Well, my fiancé's last name also starts with an S. I'm sure you know where I'm going with this lol!

I wouldn't care about this at all if I had a middle name, but I don't! Once we got engaged I just gave up the idea of keeping my last name and decided to only have my fiancé's last name, but I think I'm too attached to my last name and now I keep going back and forth with my decision.

My question is, should I just get over it? Is there any way to work around this? I'm not too stressed over it I think it's kinda funny but I don't wanna wait too long to make a decision. Does anyone else out there have terrible initials?

    I’m going to be KEG once married so I totally understand where you are coming from! I think it isn’t a big deal and you shouldn’t overthink it. Most people won’t notice and the ones that do may just have a chuckle with you about it. Although with a kid I would be sure to avoid the same initials 😂

    I’m sure not many people would notice. You just won’t be able to put your monogram on stuff.

    My initials will be CCC when I get married. Not as bad, but monograms are out of the question for me 😂. I don’t think anyone will notice or care. You won’t be putting your initials on a log of things anyways

    I wouldn't worry about it. How often will you need to write out all 3 of your initials? Typically anything that requires initials would be just the first and last.

    I would worry about it either. for what it's worth, I got rid of my maiden name completely and wish I would have moved it to my middle! It was a snap decision and I've always regretted not keeping that little part of my "former" self Smiley smile

    I thought about the monogram issue too, my friends and family have already been gifting me things with my new future last name and I been hoping no one will get me anything monogrammed lol!

    I actually like when people have all same letter initials! Lol and you’re right I didn’t really think about how I don’t think it my initials on a lot of things and even if I did I’d probably just keep putting AS 😊

    Oh you’re right! I never thought about that, since I already don’t have a middle initial I can ONLY use my first and last, I didn’t really think about how other people only use first and last too

    Yes exactly! I’m worried I will regret not keeping my last name. I didn’t think I would care but now that’s it’s a possibility I might have to go by something completely different, I do care 😅 lol I think I’m just having a hard time looking at my name as Angie Smith-Smith (not the last names just using as an example)

    I'm going from SHY to SLY haha!! I like monograms, so I did take this into account when choosing whether to keep my middle or last name once I'm married! I'm going to keep my middle name ( Y ) since it's my mother's maiden name, and Filipino!

    If you ever want something personalized, you can always just do you first and last initial! And if it's something for the couple, you usually do your first name initial, spouse's first name initial, joined last name initial!

    Aww both of your initials were neat lol! I never really been into monograms or anything with initials, but if I do I will definitely just be using the initials AS ☺️ kinda bummed I won’t have new initials lol but it’s okay!
