New Date Wording (covid-19)

Christie, on April 21, 2020 at 4:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6

Hello!

If you are planning to postpone your reception (because of covid-19) but want to do an intimate ceremony on your original wedding date--how are you wording the new date change for the reception when you have already sent your invites for the original wedding date? Hope that makes sense! Thank you!!

I did ours as "The wedding celebration of Kody and Renay has been changed to"
And listed the new time/date and location (because the venue changed as well)

Good question. I'm trying to figure out how to do mine as well. I had already sent my invitations and was receiving RSVPs.

Hi Christie! I've seen some cute postponement announcements and "change the date" cards out there already! Elli has a lot of templates with different wording which is really helpful:

    Elli Change the Date Cards

Here are a few different approaches you could take:

“In light of the current situation and our love for all of you… [Name] and [Name] have decided to postpone their wedding celebration to [new date]. For more information and updates please visit our website..."

"For the safety of our loved ones, we have decide to wed in a private ceremony. We plan to have a reception to celebrate with everyone at a later date. Thank you for your continued love and understanding!"

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have decided to elope and change the date of our wedding celebration to..."

Or you could keep it super casual with something like "We're still getting hitched, just postponing the party!"
