New April 2020 Bride!

Courtney, on July 22, 2019 at 5:29 PM Posted in Planning 0 5
Hello everyone! I'm fairly newly engaged.... June 15th so a little over a month now. We have set the date for April 18th of next year and I feel like it is coming so soon! I've made me a countdown and it says it is 271 days away!!

We have booked the venue and they provide the food there so I guess you could say we've booked the caterer as well. I have found my dress and was told to come back in December for fittings. We are going next month to look at BM dresses. My aunt is doing my flowers.

I thought of taking engagement pictures in September when it has cooled off a little and possibly sending out STD's in October. I think we will send out wedding invites in February. We have started on guest list but haven't finalized it.

Still need to find someone to do my cake and we need to find a DJ. I am a teacher so we won't go on our honeymoon until June of next year so that I won't have to take off work.

How is everyone else's planning going?

    Hey wedding date twin!!
We too are also taking our honeymoon in June due to my mom being a teacher, so she can watch our son!
We have everything big planned already. Just need to get together any DIY projects and any extra decor we want. I also have my 👗! We’re ordering invites here by September or October, as we are sending out in January because we are considered destination due to our venue being 3 hours away from most.

Hello Date Twin!! 😊 I hope that I am doing good with planning. I feel like there isn't much to do because the venue does the food and all plus it is already beautiful enough to have minimal decorations. However, I still feel like I need to be doing something and I'm not sure where to start. I know once school starts back time will start to fly and time will sneak up on me.

Where are you ordering invites from? I have looked at Zazzle, Shutterfly, and Vistaprint.

I’ve looked at all of those and haven’t found anything that stuck out yet! My fiancé likes elegant wedding invites- which those are more pricey but very pretty! Honestly at this point I have no idea!

Yeah that is kind of my problem too. I like the elegant looking wedding invitations and I haven't seen any jump out at me yet either.

A cheaper option I've been considering for the save the dates is to get them done through Wal Mart. My sister had a vow renewal in 2017 and she actually made some invites at wal mart to send out to everyone.

Hi! We have also chosen April 18th of next year Smiley smile Due to a recent move halfway across the country, we do not have a final venue, but we have one we are going to look at this weekend coming up. We are very low budget (less than 2500 for everything excluding the dress). I am doing a lot of DIY and Etsy! I have also found Amazon to be a great place to find things too! Basic Invites, Ann's Bridal Bargains, and Etsy are the places I'm finding for cheap invites that look great!
Our venue is definitely DIY, with BYOB and BYOF. I'm so excited, but also nervous because it's creeping up fast!
