-Any day other than a Saturday is cheaper
-Brunch or lunch receptions are 1/2 cost of dinner receptions
-Fiftyflowers.com is a wonderful/cost effective site for prearranged or diy flowers-Venues through your local parks/rec department are very reasonably priced and usually are heritage estates or gazebos.-If having cake, make it one or two tiered and then use sheet cake that caterer will cut in the kitchen

Keep your guest list SMALL. It’s not just the food but the people = more people equals more cost for rentals, decor, place setting stuff.

I too am on a budget planning my wedding and we are only inviting 25 people, and to save money and cut costs in certain areas we are doing the flowers ourselves, making cupcakes ourselves for everyone to have instead of ordering a wedding cake, and planning it for an off season time like fall when its not a high tourist traffic season.

I’m on a budget to, out ceremony is at a state park for a small fee and our reception is at a hall. They have their own catering so we’re paying for that. I’m doing my own centerpieces (bought flowers on Amazon) my mom bought my centerpieces (Cinderella carriages) for me as a Christmas present, my flowers are all fake the bouquets are coming from Michael’s and I ordered mine off of Etsy. I suggest you make a list of everything you want/need and do research and get a budget together. That’s what I did. I also invited 150 people the budget is $4,000

Yes. I literally sat down and made a list of everything I wanted or needed for the wedding. I then looked at flowers, vendors, dresses etc and looked at what I liked and then what I could afford and wrote EVERYTHING out. The very first thing I did was talk with my fiancé and figure out what the budget was and what we felt comfortable spending and went from there. I picked my vendors first, then my dress and then everything else. I bought my dress on poshmark actually it was new with tags so it wasn’t altered or ever worn.
