    Hi Jessica,

I said yes back in May and my wedding is in June 2020. I am still nervous and have no idea as to what I'm doing for real. This app is very great for venting and getting ideas. The ladies here are helpful and knowledgeable. Its helped me alot during this. You can do this!! Put your best foot forward, follow your gut and ask or search for each question you may have. The forum has a answer for it all. Pinterest is helpful to for ideas too.

Not sure what city you are in but, I attended at least 8-10 wedding expos and salons in the months before my wedding. (I live in Los Angeles and my wedding was Aug 10th). I actually wished I had looked through the wedding wire forum a little bit more, but between this site, Pinterest and Etsy (for DIY projects) I found myself spending too much time late at night, looking online. Get as many ideas as possible, but know when to stop and start implementing. And don't forget to ask for HELP from family and friends......

I feel very similar to you!! Have definitely used this app for planning and looking up suggestions/advice/etc. You are in the right place! I am going to start looking up bridal expos as well and getting out there! I have a few things already, but still have a long ways to go!!

I live in Mississippi and I can't find any expo where I live because my transportation is mess up right now ... plus I'm a college student doing this by myself with the groom ... I don't know when I do my wedding cause funds are low... and the groom wants to have a courthouse wedding til we can get the money up for it ... I just want to have a small wedding anyways.

It'll all work out especially with the help of wedding wire. Vegas is always a fun and cheap route to go.

When there is a will...there's a way. A few things you can try....for the venue I remember my niece was limited on funds when she got married. She was in school too. She actually reached out to the campus and got to use one of the event/garden rooms deeply discounted for her wedding. I don't know what the weather is like in the fall, but is it possible to get married in a park? I would imagine the fee would be a park permit of a couple of hundred dollars. For decorations, you might want to reach out to Wedding wire members who have already gottten married and have a ton of decorations from their wedding that they no longer need. You can ask if they will give it to you for free, or sell it deeply discounted. On the westcoast, we have Dollar Tree stores which are amazing for DIY projects.....

I am all about a bargain but be careful expecting a lot from Wish, especially the dresses. I got mine for $100 on Amazon and it is perfect. There are a lot of ways to save money and many of us are happy to tell you how we did it. Non-traditional venues, small guest lists, cake alternatives, and cutting extras like favors, programs, and floral everything are all great starts. The most important thing is to decide what is most important to you and to eliminate or cut down on the rest. Happy planning, you have a whole forum of brides and grooms to help.

My advice is to figure out what is most important to you. I have 2, the dress and the chapel. But, I am on a budget, so neither is extravagant! Good Luck!

I like what Susan said - figure out what about your wedding details matters. For me, it was good food. So we geared our focus and funds moreso towards that arena.
