Nerdy Wedding Ideas?!

Although our wedding is mainly "normal" with the theme (sunflowers, lemons, turquoise and yellow, vintage rustic) I really want to have subtle-ish hints of all our nerdy fandoms and hobbies, since it really reflects our personalities and us as a couple! I just bought these for the wedding from Etsy! Star Wars is the reason my fiance and I met so we had to have this classic SW quote at our wedding!!cfb_1401559.jpgThe Lord of the Rings trilogy is my favorite movie series and this was the PERFECT door sign for our venue! They are so so cute and I can't wait for them to arrive!! cfb_1401561.jpg
I'm thinking of for our centerpieces, spray painting gold these cheap picture frames we got for free from FHs uncle, and putting in quotes about love/relationships from our favorite movies-tvshows/games/books etc.
We also will be wearing converse as our shoes since we were going to do that at prom (we are high school sweethearts) but it didnt work out then. I am considering wearing a bridal cloak so I channel my inner elven princess but that is undecided lol. His grooms cake will be themed after QuakeCon (videogame convention we go to every year) but will probably be at his bachelor type party since we will have a lot of cake already. We will probably have movie music like LOTR played during our ceremony. Also, our grand exit will be lit by lightsabers (jumbo glow sticks!!!)
Does all of this sound super annoying to a non-nerdy guest?? Any other ideas? (Wedding ceremony is outside in the venues backyard patio, reception is inside) I'm super crafty so I can DIY if needed!
Thanks for reading my long ass post! 😂

So our wedding was originally subtly nerdy, but then we both went way overboard. Our cake is princess bride, all of our music is from movies/video games/anime. We have D20 dice as our table numbers. We bought a set of D&D dice for all our guests to take home. Our dungeon master is our officiant. We made wands with wand boxes for my bridesmaids, and swords with sheathes for the groomsmen. All the girls are in flower crowns and cloaks. It is a whole bunch of everything.

Sounds like fun. Your wedding should represent the couple. And if the non-nerdy friends don't get it that's ok. It will still look good.

It's your day and you definitely should have elements that speak to your personalities! I do absolutely love the chair signs, they're great and they look like they'll go beautifully in the venue.

So we totally went all out for our wedding and did a Harry Potter inspired wedding. Our wedding cake had 2 golden snitches on it, we served 2 signature cocktails of Butterbeer and Gilly Water, our music during cocktail hour was a mix of songs from all of the movies, we had floating candles, themed centerpieces and a couple of other fun little things.

I think if it speaks to you as a couple you should do it. Not everyone knew what all the little details were, and we were fine with that bc we did and it was our wedding after all. Just focus on what will make you 2 happy, and if those little details will be special...GO FOR IT!!

My daughter is having a romantic wedding with hints of video games. Table numbers will be cover art of video games they love. Instead of Mr&Mrs on the head table it will be a 'Achievement Accomplished' sign and the top of the cake are Princess Peach and Wario amiibos. Might make the card box a Porthole Companion Cube. She is trying to have just enough that if you are into video games you will have fun, but if you are not, you might not really catch on.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, that it won't be overwhelming for our guests but just nerdy enough for us! I want to do a companion cube card box but it seems like a lot of work to make one and I am so freaking busy lol!
