Has anyone been successful in negotiating the price of a venue down? I have 2 places that are great, and I can't negotiate until we have a date, but I'm wondering if either of these is going to be an option on a budget. I really was hoping to stay around $2500 for food and venue (I know that sound crazy to many of you with much larger budgets, but it's what I have.) Incidentally, I have looked at doing something at a regional park facility too, but since they charge $150 per hour it doesn't work out much less and then you have to set up and rent everything yourself.
Option A: The Tannenbaum. Catering is $30 per person. Venue is $3,000 for a Saturday or $2,000 for a Friday or Sunday, or $1,000 on a weekday. We could do a Sunday, but I need it at the weekday price. $3200 as it stands for Sun
Option B: The Grove. They have a minimum of 75 people. $59 per person on a Saturday. $54 on a Sunday. No site fee, but we're only having 40 people and I'm trying to do this on a budget. $4050 now.
