Need help with veil color!!

Private User, on June 5, 2014 at 12:00 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I ordered an Allure dress in Ivory fairly recently, YAY! But as many of you know, Allure Ivory is SUPER light. The only veil that the store had that I liked ended up being discontinued, so I have to get a veil elsewhere..... SOO now the problem is, WHAT color do I order?? I am afraid if I order ivory, it won't match since the Allure ivory is so light. I was thinking that a diamond white or light ivory would be my best bet, but I am just not sure. I won't be able to try the dress on with the veil until after I order it Smiley sad

Have any of you ladies ordered an ivory allure gown & if so, what color was your veil??

This all depends on the style and length of the veil you choose. You could get away with either color. but select the veil wisely. Personally I would get diamond white if I had to select elsewhere. A veil that's fingertip or shorter that does not have a heavy trimming like 2inch thick lace will work in either color. The thick lace or trimming will tell its true color. If it's longer like chapel or cathedral length try not to select one with many layers. Layer upon layer upon layer will then show it's true color tone.

Yay, Allure ivory!!! I love the softness of the color, but it is a bitch to match... I'm making my own, so I ordered a few swatches at www.fabric.com; they have a "light ivory" tulle that is a perfect match. I asked my man to choose his favorite-he shocked me by holding a few against my face and saying the peach was his favorite because it "suited me"the best. The color is so soft, you have to wad it up to tell; still, you never know. May go with his favorite Smiley winking

Anyway my point is, if you choose a simple style, they really aren't hard to make.

    Get a light ivory veil.

My dress is ivory lace overlay with "oyster" (a brownish-tan) underneath. The ivory veils looked REALLY yellow next to my dress, and the white was obviously too bright. I found light ivory and it was perfect!

Light ivory or diamond white I think would be your best options... to be completely honest it won't make a huge difference. The veils are so thin that against the dress it will pick up that color so as long as it's close, you'll be fine

ETA: It also depends on the style you want, if you're worried about the color I would maybe stick with something more simple as that will more likely pick up the color of your dress opposed to something with heavy lace where the color might stand out more

They wouldn't let you buy the sample veil? The veil that I liked at the store I bought my dress at was the last veil they had so they just let me buy that one.

I honestly thought my dress was white instead of ivory until I put it next to something white. I ordered light ivory and it is perfect with my dress.
