Need help with ceremony wording for family heirloom ring

Denise, on April 6, 2016 at 11:15 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 1

Hi!

My fiancé is getting his great-great-grandfathers wedding ring! I am trying to put that in our ceremony before he says his "i do" and I put the ring on his finger. Any ideas of what to say?

Most of the time the officiant mentions that rings will be exchanged as a symbol of your love, then explain the symbolism of them, etc. You could have the officiant say, "Bride & Groom will exchange rings as a symbol of their love.... Grooms ring comes from a long line of love, originating on his great-great grandfathers hand 106 years ago. May Bride & Groom feel the love that has endured."
