Navy suits for BM & groomsman

Ivy, on February 6, 2017 at 10:32 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

Below is a photo of the kind of Navy Suit I'd like the BM and groomsman to wear. My budget is around $100-150 for each. I've already checked out swatch samples in the black tux, menguin and the groomsmansuit.com but I didn't like the swatches they sent over. Does anyone have any ideas where to get this kind of navy blue suit? I'm paying for my bridal party since it's a small one anyway.

I didn't expect it would this challenging looking for a navy blue suit!

I know my wedding is many months away but the nature of my work dictates a crazy schedule so when I have any day off I like to spend time doing wedding stuff. Sometimes time flies so fast with work that I worry I'll be cramming things when it's near the date!

I got this same suit! That was my inspiration photo and attached is what I picked out (tie and pocket square would be blush). I got it from tuxedo by Sarno, $150 each for the full rental!

We got FHs suit from Mens Wearhouse. We splurged and he bought a nicer one, but they have all levels there, and I think it would be cheaper still if they rent them.

Following this because I have the same photo for my inspiration! FH and I checked out men's warehouse this past weekend and the salesman said we were better off buying than renting- so he brought us away from the rental area and picked out a great suit and shoes. FH had everything on and then I asked for the price-$750 for the pants and jacket, and $150 for the shoes ???? In what world is $1000 close to $150.

@jenelle: men's warehouse IS expensive. I stayed away from them when I started looking.

    Will definitely check out Sarno!

    Hoping for more suggestions!

Joseph A banks has great suits. My FH got his for under 200 and they do alterations for 12 buck.

We are renting slate suits from men's warehouse. They quoted us at 150 a piece for the whole thing. Originally, we were just in going to rent pants, shirts, and bowties...but renting seperated is more expensive. I would check out rentals at men's warehouse.

Most places only have 1 navy suit to rent, and they don't look anything like the picture you posted. I spent a long time trying to find a navy suit for FH to rent, and we ended up having to buy suits instead from Men's Warehouse (he ended up with a slate blue/gray instead of navy but we only looked to buy because the navy rentals weren't his taste). It came out to around $300 with the suit/shirt/shoes, there was a good sale for $199 suits instead of $649.

So I think you'll have to up the budget or accept the navy suit options that the rental places have.

Check men's warehouse. If you go for the basic suit is 200 for the whole thing. But they always have coupons for 50 dollars off rentals for the whole group. So.it comes 150 and they only have to put 20 dollars down until they pick it up. And if you got 5 or more guys the groom gets his tux for free and he also gets his deposit back. If you have 10 or more not including the groom. The groom get his tux for free and a free suit unless he wants to trade it for someone else in his party to get a free tux like his father. That's what we did.

We just went in to book our rentals this weekend and got what looks like that same navy suit! We went to The Tux Shop (not sure if you have those in your area?) I knew that I wanted a deal on the rentals, so I went to a bridal show a few weeks ago specifically to get the show specials, and while most places Men's Warehouse, Jos A Banks, and The Tux Shop all have the rent 5 get the grooms free deal, The Tux Shop offered the most $ off each rental so we got them all for $90 each. I see that you still have a good amount of time till your wedding so I would suggest waiting for the next bridal show in your area and checking that out as they are the best place to get the most discounts. My husband was in his brother's wedding in June and the groom and groomsmen wore navy suits. They actually all bought them (rather than renting) from Macy's. The bride and groom figured at least they can end up with a suit they can wear again, rather than spending money on a something they'll return. It wasn't too much more than renting would have been. I think it came to around $250 or something like that per suit (with a discount someone had). They still had to buy a white shirt. Shoes were another expense though, and quite expensive. They were gifted the purple ties.

ETA: Also -- Please note how the third man from the left has a darker suit. Yep, his was ordered with the same batch and he got a darker color. Of course, no one knew this until the day of the wedding since none of them had seen each other's suits and everyone assumed their navy is the correct navy. It's funny to think about now though.

It's a little out of budget but we got ours from a bridal shop that orders from jims formal wear! If you go on their website I believe you can look up where to get them. It's a similar, slim fit, navy suit - 200$ for jacket, pants, shirt, vest, and tie!

I'm ok with upping the budget to $200 each. My wedding is in November. I found a good deal in JC Penney. Should I buy it now? Or should I wait for better deals? I'm confused.

Macy's has great suits. We had an amazing experience through them! And they have a lot more options than men's Warehouse. ETA the suits we got were only $137. We still have to get shirts, and aren't requiring anything but black shoes.
