Natural diamond or synthetic?

Shelby, on April 7, 2019 at 9:22 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 6
Hey All,
I have been married before and had a natural diamond engagement ring..... however, lately, I have been so many articles on man-made diamonds? Does anyone have experience with a man-made diamonds? Yes or no?

Lab grown diamonds are absolutely identical to earth mined diamonds, in all characteristics. Even the gemologists cannot tell the difference between the two, because there is none.
They have two big advantages over earth mined diamonds: 1. They will cost 20-30% less for the same size/quality & 2. They are not ridden with all disturbing ethical & environmental issues that earth mined diamonds come with.
If you’re thinking between the two, I’d go for lab grown 100%!

I have moissanite and I’m in love. I was never big on diamonds- too expensive for no reason. Didn’t want a CZ because that is just too cheap, clouds, and looks horrible over time. Moissanite is the almost as hard as a diamond so it doesn’t chip or scratch. My friend who has a real diamond thought mine was a real diamond because the clarity is unbelievable, it looks clearer and honestly much nicer than hers! (She was the one that pointed it out and now she regrets not getting moissanite)

Keep it comin ladies! I've been leaning toward the synthetic diamond and was given an option. But I just can't see spending that kind of money on a natural diamond.

I have a lab-grown sapphire. It cost a fraction of a mine sapphire, it's clear of ethical concerns, it comes in any color you want (purple for me!)...

    Get the lab grown.

There's no real reason to go for mined gems, that I can think of... unless you've got an heirloom one.

My engagement ring from FH was an heirloom from one of his moms divorced husbands grandmothers (long one lol.) it has a gorgeous natural dark sapphire, but the setting itself needs work as does the wedding band he wants to have custom made.
I just bought a cheap temporary set because we just can’t afford the rings with the wedding expenses. Mine is made with manufactured diamonds. I don’t have it yet and I’m nervous but the pics are gorgeous!
looking forward to my custom ring when we can afford it. But if I didn’t have the heirloom I’d totally go man made. The expense for a piece of jewelry is something I hate, and the ethics are worse.
If I could have what I wanted dream wise it would be a dark ruby or sapphire with gorgeous man made sparkly diamond and black diamonds in the settings and band.
