National Tux Chain other than Men's Wearhouse?

Nessa, on July 16, 2017 at 10:23 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

We have grooms in several different cities and states... can anyone recommend another tux rental/purchase chain company other than Men's Wearhouse?

I found Jim's Formal Wear but seems to have mixed reviews.

I rented the tuxes we had from National Tuxedo Rental. Its all online and you can have them shipped to the groomsmen doors. If they have a problem all you have to do is contact the company and they get your corrections out to you within 2 days. They were awesome for me Smiley smile.

@Amanda that sounds good! Do you know how long they let you keep the Tuxes for?

We did Menguin and unfortunately there were some let downs. Customer service was great as was selection and quality of suits. They also sent the dudes a beer bottle opener as a gift to make sure they have fun in their suits!

If you would like suits and not tuxs for your groomsmen- i recommend jcpenney. Wait until a reasonable sale and its not bad at all!

Had an awful experience with Joseph A Banks. Practically everyone's tuxs didn't fit right the first try and my husband's tux didn't come in until the day before the wedding. Would not recommend.

We used Xedo (online only) and they were wonderful! Great customer service, and they ship the tuxes two weeks before the wedding so that there's plenty of time to get replacements if something doesn't fit. We loved them!

@ Nessa they say to order at the latest 2 weeks from your wedding. I received mine 2 weeks before mine and they have to be in transit 3 days after your event.

You know, I'd never really thought much about tuxes or suits. What's the standard? They all look the same to me. I've never paid much attention to men's fashion.

@Erin what was the letdown with Menguin? Just remembered seeing about them on FB.

@Nessa They locked in the 'looks' without telling us, but through customer service we were able to edit them and they somehow sent the wrong suits to the groomsmen. They ended up with everything they needed though and they credited us a bit. Everything that happened was just an error, I'm sure not a consistent thing. All their suits fit PERFECTLY though and with all the options I would probably go through them again tbh as well as the quality of customer service!

Also, part of the proceeds go towards penguin conservation and if you rent a dog tux they will donate to the Humane Society which is cool!

Honestly I dont know the difference between tux and suit lol but you can get a 3 piece suit, dress shirt, and tie for like $150-$250. Idk if your groomsmen would be willing to spend that much. But at least dress pants are something they would use again

We used jims formal wear through a local boutique and didn't have any issues! I liked their navy suits better than men's warehouse so we went with them !

We are going with Jos A Bank for suits. The suit we chose is equal to the cost of renting a tux and we also have groomsmen in different states. So far our experience has been positive so fingers crossed it stays that way!
