I live in Tennessee. It depends on what you're wanting to do out here. I would personally stay out of Nashville unless you are staying somewhere like the Opry Hotel. What are you wanting to do? Bar hop? Hike ,kayak and out doorstep things? Or maybe museums and shows?
I would recommend staying in Gatlinburg and using VRBO to rent a cabin out there. You can do all the things listed above out there. It’s a good ways from Nashville (3hrs or so) but all that stuff is out there and it’s so beautiful. Mom actually looking at going out there for my Bachelorette party (we aren’t crazy party people so it’s more our speed vs Nashville which can be a lot).
I'm not planning on honeymooning in Nashville, but I live here so if you need any advice on places, feel free to message me! Nashville is more of a bachelorette city than honeymoon city, but you can totally do a honeymoon here (especially if you love music). There's so much to do in Nashville! There's a lot of different places to tour if you love music (Ryman Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, Grand Ole Opry, Johnny Cash Museum and some others). There's always free music on Broadway. It's super touristy but is a place you have to visit if you've never been. The Parthenon is fun. There are several places to hike, kayak, etc. Downtown Franklin in Franklin is my favorite place around. It's like a like Hallmark looking town with a lot of cute shops and restaurants. In the Nashville area, there's SO many good places to eat too (my favorite is The Southern on 3rd Ave in Downtown Nashville).

My fiance went to NADC (lived in Donelson) and it's where we started our relationship. We have been thinking of going back for our honeymoon. I was never there a lot but when I was he was working and I would never go anywhere by myself. We have been looking at several kayaking places and restaurants.
