Napkins

Dezaree, on January 19, 2020 at 5:00 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 15
So, we are using real silverware, but chose to use the hard nicer plastic plates. Now I am going back and forth on napkins. Nice throw away? Or cloth? What's everyone else using?

We used cloth napkins and china but I think it’s depends on your venue and the vibe you are going for.

We are trying to save where we can, but we want a more elegant classy vibe. Everything is white, but with copper accents. We decided we were okay with the nicer plastic plates.. just not sure if people will even care what kind of napkins we use.

We went with china and cloth napkins. It didn't make sense to use disposables when it only cost $80 to rent 200 plates. I found 25 quan. packs of napkins for $8 each which turned out to be more cost efficient than even renting. Then I can turn around and sell them when I'm finished. We wanted the wedding to be simple but a little nicer than the disposables that the catering company supplies. Here is a link to the napkins!

We got cloth napkins from linentablecloth.com for super cheap. It was $2.68 per dozen for 17 inch napkins.

Thanks Amber. Such a good price. I actually just ordered the cloth napkins and all tablecloths from this site! Thanks again.

We are doing the same, plastic disposable plates (free included with our catering) and real silverware. I am renting the silverware and cloth napkins along with my tablecloths. Less to throw away at the end of the night, and I wanted them to be navy. I also knew I would probably be too lazy to try to resell them afterward.

These are a steal! I’m so sad they don’t have teal Smiley sad the only ones I’ve found end up being $1 a piece

Yes, great price. And $1 seams average. But I wonder if you do not want to spend that, if you could do extra teal somewhere else? Or even a real gift favor that laid over the napkin?

So I'm buying because it's cheaper than renting AND I can turn around and sell them when I'm done. It might end up being more cost efficient for you to rent them. I think it was $.50/napkin for me to rent from our rental company.

They ended up being about the same for me to rent from our caterer versus buying them so I decided rather just keep them or give them away Smiley smile I’m debating whether I should save some money and get navy instead but teal is our main color

That’s what I was thinking too. Maybe get navy napkins and teal runners instead. I’ve been on the fence on whether to get runners or not since our venue has beautiful wooden tables that they don’t require us to cover. I’m just wondering if it would look too bare without it

Runners would look amazing on real wood tables. Although my guest tables are round and will have table clothes, our head table is a wooden farm style, and we are using a white runner. I guess it just depends on what you really want. But if the cost is the same to rent them, and you want the teal napkins, then I would just do that.

Cloth. Better for the environment and feels much more upscale. We are using all reusable products for our dining needs (china, real silverware, cloth napkins); no disposable products. I did have friends use entirely compostable products for their wedding and that was pretty cool, but it definitely depends on the vibe you are going for.
