Naming tables with beach names

j, on July 17, 2017 at 9:45 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

Hi y'all!! I'm not American (bride to be) and my husband and his whole family are americans. We're thinking about naming our guest tables with Beaches in my hometown (Rio de Janeiro - Brazil) and in the back of the paper having a picture of us. The thing is that we don't have that many pictures at the beach. Do you guys think it would look tacky if we use just other random pictures of us we love not necessarily at the beach? I'd like to hear your thoughts.

PS the wedding is by the sea!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't think it would be tacky, I think it would be nice. We are naming our tables after towns on Cape Cod, but my escort cards will say:

    "Mrs. Jane Doe

    Table 5 - Chatham"

I do think it would make more sense to have the pictures go with the beach.

Have you been to all the beaches you are naming tables after, or are you just picking random beaches?

I would look at the picture and wonder if the picture was taken at the location of the table number.

I'm having an engagement photoshoot done this next weekend so I might use the pictures from it. Gonna try to get the pics done at a beach... Smiley smile

I like the idea but I do think it would be weird to put non-beach pictures with the beach names. I like table names that aren't just numbers though!

Not tacky, but I would find it kind of odd. If you are going so far as to name the tables after specific beaches, then it only makes sense to us photos of those actual beaches. Otherwise, what's the point of the name-photo combo thing?

I would highly suggest you use numbers in addition to names since you don't want your guests going on a treasure hunt to find their table.

I also prefer having the table number/name on both sides in case the sign gets turned around. If you want to use pictures on the back of the table number, then I would stick with beach pictures. Why can't you just repeat the same few pictures you do have? There's no reason it needs to be a different picture at each table.

I'm with Laurel, beach names with non beach pics is odd.... you can get pics of nearly all beaches from a quick google search..

Are you getting married here in the States? Living here after?
