Wow! We started looking into Italy and Japan after you mentioned it, I can say I am speechless! Have you ever been? Did you have to learn the language ahead of time to help with your experience there?

I’ve been to both. In japan people don’t really speak much English but with enough pointing aha and key words it should be fine.
Japan IS SO COOL though to the point where you start to think “why does America have this” etc aha

It depends how much time you’ll have, the kind of climate you want, and where you live now.

It realllllly depends what you like to do and how far you’d like to travel.
If you want to see a lot of different cultures I’d highly recommend Europe: France, England, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, Croatia and so many more.
If you want to stay close by, Mexico is awesome. I personally did not like Cancun because it was just beach hotels, but if you want a vacation to lay by the beach, eat and drink at your hotel all inclusive Cancun is good.Otherwise there are also really amazing places in the US if you’d rather stay in country: Lake Tahoe is amazing whether in the winter for skiing or in the summer for staying on the beach, the Florida Keys are beautiful to drive through, California is amazing for a road trip because there are so many cool places to drive through, and then if you like nature/hiking there are the National Parks all over the country to visit (Yellowstone/Grand Teton being my favorites)

Yeah, we'll need some more information.

Budget, preferred activities, ability to travel internationally, places you *don't* want to go..

And, of course, taking into account quarantines and local health data.

Nashville, cabin in Smoky Mountains, New York (went last year in December and it was awesome), team-Dallas, Austin etc., Colorado or Vermont if you ski, Chicago. I also did a trip to Italy in early December and was in love with it.

I'd say it helps a lot to know what type of experience you're wanting/what type of people you both are/a budget you want to stick to.

My FH and I are both introverts so Vegas/places with more of a party atmosphere aren't very enjoyable to us. We prefer new cultural experiences and/or scenery that's completely new to us. We're from the PNW so there are several states we'd like to see with different climate/food/etc.

If you're wanting to travel abroad, I second the Japan suggestion. It's SO different than the US...it's a very safe place to travel to, super polite culture, and it's beautiful. It's a long flight though, and might feel overwhelming at first since it's not a predominately English speaking country. (I worked there for 5-6 months at a time and got along fine only knowing 4 or 5 phrases).

I LOVE the Cancun/Riviera Maya area. We are heading to Cancun for our honeymoon next month! It will be my seventh trip to the area, haha.

Italy is so beautiful too, but I'm not sure when you're planning to go or what's happening with the virus there. When I went, most people spoke English. I just learned a few phrases like, hello, good morning, excuse me, thank you, please, etc.

I'm also a huge fan of the French Riviera, especially Nice. The rocky beaches and charm are just gorgeous.
