Names on placecards?

Krissy, on July 23, 2017 at 2:42 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hey all! I'm starting to work on placecards as my RSVP's are coming in, but I can't decide which way is more appropriate or sounds/looks better.

I like that the top left makes it more clear that these people are married, and I feel like it has more flow. But if I did it the way on the top right it would make it more uniform looking with those guests that are unmarried couples like on the bottom card.

I know I am way overthinking this but it's driving me crazy lol. Any opinions on which way seems to work best?? Thanks in advance!

I did one name per card (so you could read them better) and no honorifics.

I'm also skipping salutations, and keeping to 1 name per card so that I can specify the meal choice.

Between the left and the right of your, I prefer the left. Il

I personally would leave off the honorifics ( Thanks @A.L.- I learned a new word today!) because there are too many minefields at least in my guest list (e.g.- should I give people their earned title of doctor if they have a PHD?).

My favorite is top right! I am super jealous of your handwriting...printing it is for me.

I would do one per card. I prefer the top left.

I'm doing one name per card. Haven't decided on including courtesy titles, yet.

I hadn't thought about one per card, I'll definitely consider that!

Thanks for the compliments on my handwriting-I was starting to doubt if it looked okay, but now I feel more confident! Thank you!!

I'm not adding titles and one name per card unless they are married. For example: John and Jane Doe (married)

Dinner is buffet style so no need for separate cards to denote entreé choices.

I'm doing one name per place card, as we have to specify a meal choice as well. I left off titles and used first and last name only.

I agree with the others that your handwriting is nice. I just did my thank you cards from my bridal shower and my writing is horrendous. Haha.

One name per card. First and last name.

We're doing pine per card, without a honorific, so that we can indicate meal choice. Also, just as an FYI, it is considered improper to separate a man's first and last name, so of the ones you have, I'd go with the top right.

Technically these are escort cards, not place cards. Escort cards direct your guest to the table and place cards assign the seat. I prefer one name per card.
