Name change

I don't live in Florida, but I don't think you'll have a problem with this.

In Massachusetts, you have to put the name you plan to use on your marriage license/certificate, but the only thing that automatically gets updated with your new name after getting married is your voter registration, and even that doesn't happen right away.

No matter where you are in the U.S., you have to file a name change form with the social security administration so your name gets changed with the federal government, and usually you'll use your updated social security card to change your name on your other documents.

You're supposed to do that ASAP (although you do officially have 2 years to do it) and after that you should tell your employer, if you have one. It only matters so there isn't any drama with your taxes, you don't have to change your email address or anything. Other than that, there's no rush for changing your name on anything else. (I did that part last fall, but I'm not going to change my name on my license and passport until they expire in 2022.)

And of course, you can always keep going by your original name in your personal life, even if it doesn't match all of your legal documents.
