MyRegistry/Zola vs. Traditional Registry

FutureMrsPalermo, on October 4, 2016 at 7:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi Everyone!

Wondering what people think about these "Universal Registries" as opposed to making two different registries at Target and/or Crate & Barrel (etc.).

I heard Amazon can be difficult since they ultimately send you to the store sites.

Thoughts? Insight?

(For the record we're sticking with tradition and using these registries for gifts, not Honeyfunds or Experiences which I'm not sure if these have an emphasis on those "cash gifts")

I did Zola but then I also did target so I didn't really use it for it's universal function. I just like a lot of the separate items Zola offers. FMIL also liked the idea of target for people who have a hard time with computers and the internet.

We used Zola and I really like d all off it. I loved that I could decide when to send gifts, which made our live so much easier during our honeymoon. We used the group gift option as well, but what we had as a group gift ended up being bought by just one couple.

I wanted to do Zola, but wasn't sure if people would "understand" it. I opted for 3 registries, and went a little crazy with the Amazon universal registry!

We used Zola and loved it. We did a mix of items from Zola and items we added with the universal feature. We wanted to have it all in one place so we only had to keep track of one list for thank you notes. But I think it depends on how much you want from any given store. If ALL your gifts are from Crate and Target, then prob registering at the stores themselves makes sense. If you want to mix those with stuff from other stores, then a universal registry is prob for you!

Sorry for the bump! But i agree with PP. Zola makes it seem like you receive benefits, but in reality, you dont. I used myregistry and it was good bc i got to get benefits from stores like Targets and Walmart Smiley smile

We are doing three traditional registries. I think it depends on your "crowd". Ours are older and don't understand technology as much. Some people just don't like the online stuff if you know what I mean.
