My wedding and Covid19 Should i cancel?

Joan, on September 2, 2020 at 4:17 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
I'm starting to panic about my wedding because of the pandemic. The date is in April 11, 2021 and I have family and friends coming from the US.

I don't want to use a mask in my wedding day. I don't want anyone getting sick for attending. But at the same time I feel sad because I don't want to keep postponing... I just feel like my dream wedding will never be. :'(

Can you limit your guest list to local family and friends only and live stream the ceremony to US fam? They will understand.

I was thinking about that. I will discuss this with the groom.

A mask is what keeps you and others from gettiing sick. If you don't want to postpone, most couples are having a private ceremony with a legal witness or two and sharing a celebration at a later date. That's an option instead of cancelling.

It's hard to tell what is going to happen. but if you are nervous about it then i also would just limit your wedding to a smaller crowd or elope and then do a large celebration later on

There’s a possibility masks are here to stay for a long time; but aside from that; I would not plan to postpone or change your April 2021 date.
We’ll start seeing some positive changes in the next 2 months - well unless you vote Biden then he’s already said he’ll close the US down 3 months after inauguration. 😕😕😕 Sorry really didn’t mean to put it that way and politics to it.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I will not postpone but I will have to think of a Paln B. The streaming it's a great idea! Also I can move the celebration outdoors and save the money for a DJ and only have dinner. Let's see!

They are anticipating a vaccine release for early 2021 so I don’t think it’s worth worrying about right now. We were supposed to have our wedding in August but postponed to the same weekend as you and are being hopeful things will be a little bit calmer by then. We also have family coming from India so I understand the worry with traveling relatives. Hang in there!

Thank you. I read there are 3 vaccines being tested in humans. I hope everything gets better by then.

Not sure. What about as a backup plan: wedding for local friends & family only, and then a vow renewal or reception later near the other family?
