"my Story" on ww 1st Person Vs 3rd

Kate, on March 21, 2019 at 8:04 AM Posted in Planning 0 8

We're using our Wedding Website for our RSVPs so I'm starting to work on it, I wasn't going to even do the "My Story" part but our story is pretty cute so I think I will, everyone is going to know I put it on there so should I write it in first person from my perspective or write it in 3rd person like a story? Also if you wouldn't mind linking your Wedding Website because I'm not really sure what to put about the wedding either, and I think it would help to see what everyone is doing, thank you!

I wrote mine in 1st person. I feel like it makes it more personal. Plus, everyone is going to know that you wrote it, so it might as well read that way also.

I also wrote the bridal party bios from my perspective. For my girls, I talked about “Amanda and I...” For his guys, I used “Eric and Nate...”

We did 3rd person for ours. I just figured it was easier for guests to read.

I used he, she, and we so it looks more like we both wrote it.

I used 3rd person. I came to that decision after reading someone's who wrote it in 1st person and I was like yikes this sounds terrible lol Obviously everyone knows you probably wrote it haha I just think it reads better. Also it sounds like you both might have wrote it together which is also cute (I just wrote ours and sent it to FH for approval but whatever lol)

I chose 3rd person. If i did first person it would be obvious I wrote it and not FH. I thought it might sound weird/obvious that the girl is writing it and make it seem like FH didn't care "our story". SO if you do first person it's hard to make it an "our" story and not a "my" story you know?

So, we did it in each of our point of views in first person. I wrote my little tidbit and my fiancé wrote his. I thought it would be nice to see both sides of the story! And honestly, mine isn't like a "how we met" type of thing - just something I find important. Here is a screenshot of my homepage for an example!

As for the rest of the site, I just put basic info like when and where and little tidbits of the bridal party. Kept it nice and simple!
