My sister is getting married...

Domingo, on November 1, 2019 at 3:25 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 7

Hi,

My sister is getting married at the end of November. But she recently obtained a letter from Optima legal stating that she is in debt and has to pay because if she does not pay they will send a bailiff. She was surprised to receive it as well as her future husband. But my sister explained to him that she didn't owe anyone anything. I felt sorry for my sister...

Those letters are scams. Google the companies name and you read it's a scam. I get those phone calls from the same company and I know i.owe.no.one. One day I actually offered to them come on to the house but quickly they said mam if you would visit your nearest store and purchase a money card, this can be over with, so I said no, just send them over. I've been waiting a couple years now. Again Google the companies name and show it to your sister to calm her down. I work for a CPA firm and we get at least one call a week from a frightened client and explain that it's a scam. I hope this helps.

That's probably a scam. I agree with the previous poster about a google search and research. They are getting real clever with these new scams.

If you actually owe money, that’s not how it works. Not even close. I suggest she check her credit reports to make sure she doesn’t have any stolen identity problems and go from there. But this definitely sounds like a scam.

That is a scam. Make a complaint to the FCA or CSA services.
