My Seal and Send Invitations! And the ugly stamp...

Also as a tip, exclusivelyweddings.com threw in a sample of 5 extra invitations for some reason. I already ordered extra so now I have a ton left over. I would have ordered less and still had plenty of extras if I had known.

Yeah, I went to the post office, and when I bought the # of stamps I did, the guy said "Wait, are these for invitations? We have nicer stamps."

The look I gave him clearly communicated the fact that I have never cared to decorate what amounts to trash.

I just got a really nice STD from my friends in the mail. Nicely printed addresses. Nice envelope. Got it yesterday. Don't remember the stamp, it's already in the trash.

LoL yeah, I wouldn't think anything more of the stamp except for I feel it calls attention to itself being extra and very dark! At least, it's on the part that comes back to me though, not the part they'll keep (and throw away eventually).

I admit, I got stuck on the stamps too. I wanted the 70 cent one on the outside to match the one on the inside. It was my small obsession. I had to let it go as the PO ran out of the matching stamps.

But at least they are cute stamps.

Emma, I called USPS and she even admitted they didn't post it on their own website and it isn't very helpful. You can't even buy the proper postage until the rate increases! Stupid... Had I sent out my invites earlier, I would have had all the wrong RSVP postages! ETA: since I doubt most of my guests will be replying before 5/31/15

Yeah, our RSVP date is June 25th. Luckily TinaBoBina gifted me with some .66 cent stamps, so most of ours have those on them, but some do have the .34 cent ones so that really sucks.

Where did you hear that? Everything I see online says the rates went up on 4/26. Had you already sent them out then?

honestly, I didn't believe it either, since it isn't on the USPS website... but I called and verified with the USPS customer service center. The 4/26 got delayed and then they just recently announced it would be 5/31.

I officially hate them. I hate how they can make that change so fast. My invites went out the 9th.

I am glad I got regular stamps for my RSVPs! I have the same black and white stamps as you! I am using the 70cent ones for invites and the forever for the RSVPs.

UGH! I had no idea until now. Would have been nice of them to tell me this when I bought a giant roll in April!! And the chase to track down RSVPs begins....

I got the white rose wedding stamps lol. Glad they were easy to put together!

My aunt works at the post office and gave me shit for the stamps I used on my STDs ...they were American flags. Seriously? Her dad and brother (my dad) are both veterans. She sent me links to pretty stamps for the invitations. The lady at my post office is deaf and I just take whatever freaking stamps she gives me to be honest.

I can't say that I've ever given a second look at the stamps on any of my mail unless there are several or they are over sized.

LoL honestly, it was coincidence that my postcard stamps matched my invitations, I honestly don't think there's many options. But since it did, it was a shame to stick an ugly stamp right next to it. I think it being a second stamp is what will call attention to it. Not the end of the world, but it's a shame that the postcard stamp rates are rising now!!!

Ugh... The only stamps I have left is UP! ( Well PIXAR characters on them). I should stock up on stamps.

Thank you so much for posting this! I was going to buy my stamps tomorrow to mail the invitations 6/1 - I don't want the RSVPs to get lost in the mail due to the wrong stamp so thanks to you I will wait to buy them! :-)
