My of 11 years friend is no longer my friend

Hi all,
A few weeks ago I posted about a friend who had said she expected to be a bridesmaid and would be offended if she wasn’t. There has been some stuff in the last few years that has happened between us that make me trust her a little less and feel less close to her. I found out yesterday she deleted me off social media and has left our friend group chat that we’ve had since high school to communicate with the whole gang. She feels that me pulling away from her as a friend because of what happened a couple years ago is unfair of me and she doesn’t feel I would be there for her if she were suddenly homeless (apparently this is how she measures friendship now?) and has cut me from her life without talking to me about it at all. I’m very sad to lose a friendship like this although I know we are not as close anymore and I needed to talk about it and ask if anyone else had had a similar experience?

One of my childhood friends happily accepted when I asked her to be a bridesmaid. She was excited about getting her dress. Then when save the dates went out she threw a tantrum over not being maid of honor and didn’t talk to me for five months, then she said she can’t afford to come. I offered to help pay and she hasn’t gotten back to me, so I’m taking that as her excuse not to show up. My fiancé says he doesn’t even want her there because she’ll just be drama. We have not been as close the last several years and she hasn’t been a very good friend lately anyway, so I was upset at first but realized it’s probably no great loss.

For me, I had a friend from high school who I was pretty close with. We both have kids, knew each other for a long time, had similar interests so we got along just fine. But late 2016 she began to pull away from me. We had no prior arguments or disagreements that would have warranted this. She just stopped talking to me COLD TURKEY. When I'd try to message her, she'd always say that she is busy. But I never bought that excuse. If her and I were still close, I would have chose her to be a bridesmaid. That's how much I loved her as a friend. But sometimes, friendships fizzle out and there's nothing we can do to salvage that. I'm sorry that your friendship has soured. But sometimes, things happen for a reason. We still have to move forward and live our best lives.

I just quit talking to my MOH recently.
She was nothing but a headache and kind of ruined some of my wedding ceremony photos bc she was up there rolling her eyes and scowling the whole time to the point some of our guests mentioned it to my parents.
I hadn't really text her first but had responded to a few texts a week or two after the wedding.
Then she came at me very accusatory by asking why we haven't spoken in 2 months (she lives like 8 hours away btw) and she hadn't tried reaching out in that time either.
I forgot to respond bc i was busy with work and 2 days later she chewed me out for not giving her a chance to fix what was wrong.
In the mature fashion, I promptly deleted her and blocked her. I don't need that in my life.
I have plenty of friendships where we can go YEARS without talking and still be like things have never changed.

It hurts, but I hope you'll feel relief. Negative people can drain you, so see this as a blessing in disguise Smiley heart
