My Mother-in-law can't make the wedding.

Allison, on January 29, 2020 at 10:02 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 12

I am not sure where to start...

Kenny's mother has a stroke on her spine 7/8 years ago and hasn't walked since. She is unable to get travel except by squad and I think that would be embarrassing for her and very expensive. The wedding is also 1.5 hours away from her. How do we make her feel apart of the big day? The planning is done, but I want her to be able to see her son on this big day. Any advice?

Could you live stream the wedding and have someone there with her to watch the wedding in real time?

I agree, I would livestream the ceremony for her if at all possible.

This is not the same at all, but my family couldn’t come to my graduation, it was my Masters’s so kind of a big deal for me. Anyway, they watched online and drank beer and had a little party of sorts and it was special for all of us. In a small way we felt like we were all together.

I think it's a really good idea to have someone live stream or put her on a Skype type of thing

My nana can’t make my wedding due to health issues. I will have my ceremony filmed and watch it with her after the wedding.

Live stream the wedding for her! We had an unplugged ceremony but made an exception for her because she wasn't able to attend. She was the only viewer so it wasn't a live broadcast to anyone but her, like a video call.

*Make sure whoever is controlling the phone/video mutes it so you can't here her during the ceremony. Our person almost forgot lol*

We had DH's cousin facetime in his grandfather, who couldn't come due to medical issues. It worked REALLY well, even if we didn't actually see him, and he felt included.

So, basically, what everyone else said, because sometimes technology is really freaking awesome.
