Oh that's so silly. I know you were cussing in your head - if it had been me I would have been laughing out loud! The song is sentimental to you and you don't have to explain to her or anyone why you've chosen it. It will give you the courage and the strength you need to get halfway down that aisle, and that's all that matters. I like that you're eventually going to just tell her how it is and keep your song choice. No need to compromise here. This is all you, Stephanie. I'm sure your song choice is amazing.

Yeah your MIL truly has no say in any of this. If a song has sentimental meaning to you and your FH, that's a beautiful thing and she shouldn't be trying to alter a beautiful thing. LOL! Definitely choose the song both of you like but also let this situation roll off your shoulders. Sounds like your FMIL is trying to control small aspects of your wedding. She's not the one getting married so she definitely needs to stop!

Its hard to not over react in those situations because you want to please someone that you care about but your future husband is right, its not her day. I would just shrug it off and take a look at the songs. If you love the original song, go with your gut!

Lol i love how everyone has to have an opinion about EVERYTHING in someone else's wedding. Its natural for them to judge. Take no concern.


Its human nature and they mean 'well'. But u do u. Its ur wedding. Ur not overreacting. Weddings are very personal and we show alot of our personalities in them and when ppl judge it feels like theyre attacking us. I find my family can persuade my opinion on things too when i want to do something but its not in their vision for my wedding... its not worth harrowing on or causing trouble with ur future mil. If she brings it up again, say thanks for the options but im gonna stick with the song i want. It's literally for a less than 2 min walk down an aisle. At the end of the day u will remember the song, she wont.
If u dont want to say it, just be like u will have to wait and see what i pick the day of.

Definitely an appropriate reaction. It’s your wedding your day your FH. You want him to hear the song you picked not one from someone else’s wedding. Stick to your song or else you’ll walk down the aisle and only think about how mil picked it out.
