My hair dresser quit doing hair

KM, on August 25, 2014 at 1:49 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

I am SO bummed. I found her a couple years ago and loved her. Her prices were great and she was the first one who didnt take one look at my long hair and get scissor happy. She actually listened to me when I said TWO INCHES. Now she's changing her business model to just doing tutorial classes for hair/makeup and is referring all of her clients to someone else. I asked her if she was still willing to do my wedding day hair for the prices we agreed on, but she still hasn't gotten back to me. She assured me that she never does contracts and it's fine, but now I'm so iffy about it now, since she is going through so many changes. Just a few weeks ago, she raised her normal hair cut prices, and now she's not doing hair at all! Glad this is happening now, and not a month from my wedding. I even drive 3 1/2s for this girl every time I need a hair cut.

Oh man, that sucks. I am the same way but somehow my hair always gets chopped off! I usually get it cut from my girl back in Chicago when I'm home - haven't found one I like in Ohio. Plus they charge like $50 to literally take an inch off - if I could see the back of my head I would do it myself!

Oh man. I totally feel for you. I had the same issue a month or so ago. I found out my hairdresser (who I have seen since I was 16) is moving to Australia in January and wont be coming back for a while, if at all. I was so upset. Luckily I found someone to do my hair and make up for the day and they rock. But otherwise I would have been hooped. My hair is super tricky and crazy. So I am very weary about new people touching it. I hope she follows through for you! Smiley smile

I hope so too. In the meantime, I have to find someone who will just trim my hair. I'm borderline just thinking of leaving it for the next 7 months and not cutting it at all. Last time I had someone different do it, I asked for a trim and some layers. She cut 6 inches off and THEN started layering. Then she goes on telling me how they hate it when girls with long hair come in and just ask for a trim because it's a boring waste of their talent. Obviously those talents don't include listening to what people want.

Omg i would go ape shit. You could let it go - just condition condition condition! Or have a friend just trim the ends once or twice, less than an inch.

I'm so sorry! That sucks! I hate it when you find someone you love to do your hair and you get comfortable with them and then you suddenly find yourself out on the street again!

My hair stylist for the wedding just left the salon too. Since I'm contracted with the salon and not directly with her I'm still stuck with them. I just scheduled my re-trial for a month before the wedding. I hope the new person they've assigned to me is able to replicate my original up do!

My stylist who has been doing my hair for almost 3 years since I moved to AZ just moved to Idaho and didn't tell me.

She also agreed to do my hair for the wedding.

    Well, then.

The same thing happened to me, but mine still came out to do my hair for my wedding. Fingers crossed for you!

YEAH! Literally like, everyone I have been trying to count on for being there for the wedding has bailed. Thank gosh I've been planning early.

I had to find a new hair dresser also. I gave up the fancy salon, the glass of wine and the pampering, but I also gave up the huge price tag. Diane is less than perfect, but she's fantastic, so I'm not bitching.

Yeah, honestly I'm not all that confident in my girl's abilities for some reason either, which is why I'm going with something super simple. She's only $30 per person and she's coming to me, so I'm not bitching either.
