My fiancé is still married

The paperwork is signed, but we can’t go to the courthouse. We haven’t been able to go for 3 months. And now, on the day the courthouse is due to open, there is a notice on the door, saying they will be closed for another month. We were cutting it close as is. Now, he won’t be divorced by our wedding date. I’m so heartbroken. I can’t stop crying. I was so sure we would still be able to get married as planned, but those stupid divorce papers, I hate them. I hate his ex. I just want to marry him. Now we have to reschedule, and I don’t even know when we can.

    Aw Im so sorry to hear that. Im not sure what ur plans are for ur wedding but is there any way you would be willing to have your ceremony as u planned and sign the official marriage license at a later date. I know its not ideal, and your wedding date wouldn’t be the same as the date on the marriage certificate but just thinking of a way to avoid rescheduling everything.

    Depends on if you are doing a religious or civil ceremony? You may be able to go through with the the ceremony but just do the marriage license when the divorce is finalized.
