My fellow Cricut Crafters!

TAP, on February 3, 2017 at 10:05 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 19

FH got me a Cricut for Christmas. I tried a few things here and there but the damn machine was intimidating me! So I finally cut the bullshit and sat down to attempt making a shirt.

"sun and sand and a ring on my hand!"

(it's easier to see and read in person)

Backstory: FH proposed at Clearwater Beach in July. We are going back there in April. Figured this tank would be appropriate for vaca Smiley smile I think I did pretty damn good for my first try!

Anyone else make shirts or any type of clothing with their machines?

    Thanks ladies!

    @schafer- it wasn't hard just very time consuming! Think it took me a little over 3 hours. I had to go back and iron a couple letters because they weren't sticking well.

    So my advice would be to over iron at the beginning just to be sure.

    @nicole- those look great!

    @kayla- this was my first time properly weeding. Last time I tried on vinyl and was having a hard time for some reason! I'd say the weeding took the longest for me. I also didn't cut the image as one so I had to make sure each piece was centered and straight. But it was pretty easy all and all. Just very time consuming!

    I love all of these projects!!!! Everyone is so creative!

    I have a silhouette (which is very similar to a cricut). I used mine for a ton of wedding related crafts. However, this was one of my favorites! This is a logo that I created using the silhouette's design software. In the pic, it is on a pair of sweatpants that I wore while getting ready. I also turned it into a jpeg and used it on our programs, invitations, I cut it from craft vinyl and used it on our welcome sign, as a selfie station prop, on our card box...it's amazing the things you can do with these machines!!

    We have a Silhouette Cameo as opposed to a Cricut, but I use it and love it. I haven't tried doing the heat-transfers yet, but I'm planning on monogramming totes for my girls with it.

    @Fsumissa- Clearwater will always have a special place in my heart! My grandparents always took me there when I visited them and now it's where we got engaged. It's my favorite!

    I'm going to be monogramming my bridesmaid's initials on their robes and I'm a bit nervous considering it is my first time using HTV. However, I've done vinyl on their stemless wine glasses and used vinyl as a stencil for their initialed tote bags (painted with fabric paint). I want to make my dad a hankie with lyrics to the song we're going to dance to at the reception. So much to do, so little time left! If I'm super ambitious, I'd love to create a glittered tumbler that I've seen on a Silhouette group I'm in on Facebook. With a 14 hour drying time for the epoxy, I don't think it's happening yet! Having a lot of fun with this machine though!
