I already told my FW that I plan to wear the dress to fests. I want my money's worth!! LOL The only thing that will keep me from camping is if I still have stuff to get done. I'm waiting a couple more weeks to decide. If nothing else we'll day trip. Please post pics after you dye it!

I also wanted to go to my state’s ren fest that happens right before the wedding but that’s just cutting it too close for us, if I had a bigger budget I would’ve just had it at ren fest! The fancy dinner with fire dancers and sword fights. Man that would’ve been so cool.
Will do, I’m going to see if my ren fest seamstress will do it. This is a pic of the costume she made me(excuse background, hotels are not faerie like at all!) she lives near me so hopefully we can work something out. ❤️

I really could use a few nights of fire spinning, dancing around the fire, and communing with the spirits at fairy glen before it's go time. Last year a friend asked me to perform his wedding at the fest the day of. I had 2 hours to write an entire ceremony which was performed after bellydance performances, followed by lots of fire dancing. It was amazing! My FW is trying to be really supportive of the idea but afraid it would stress me out to plan two weekends in a row. I don't know, it could be worth it. lol I think I'm going to keep mine white for a while (unless I spill on it) then decide a color to dye it.

OK, now I'm trying to figure out how to make a fairy glen at my venue too. I think we could do damage if given a proper budget. LOL

It was very sweet and silly, just like them. I can't not at least show to this fest to celebrate our wedding. Even if I camp she's coming up because she basically has to or our friends will kidnap her.

Your life sounds so much fun, makes me miss my friends back home. ❤️ We have a pagan friend officiating our wedding, she’s doing a handfasting and ring warming ceremomy for us and she’s absolutely stoked.

Our good friend is doing our handfasting too. I do a lot of them as an officiant and have done rings warmings/blessings. I love when couples trust me to add energy to their union.

That’s really sweet! Our friend has never done it before but her whole family is ordained. We get to be her first wedding and she’s putting together a custom ceremony for us, this is a big deal for her. I’m really excited, no one we could hire would ever be this enthusiastic about our wedding. ❤️

Ouch, that is really far but nice your parents are close.

That's how I got into officiating. A friend asked, then another, soon I made it a side business. It's fun and totally worth the hoops I had to jump through to get my license here. It's so much more fun when it's a couple you care about. It's going to be special for all of you.

I didn't think I would stick around to even post my pictures but I am excited to show off some of the ideas others have helped with. I'm glad that most of the people I have been interacting with are getting married around the same time as me too. lol

It’s been super useful talking to other brides and sharing ideas because I can’t really do that in real life lol, most of our guests are sweetheart but totally gruff dudes who just care about the food not the decor and then my well meaning family that only comments “How much was it? You could’ve got something else for cheaper.” Big oof. The forum let me talk about my ideas and helped me get inspired! ❤️ It’s also exciting talking to brides just as nervous because our weddings are so close, man I’m a bundle of nerves lately.

This was the first weekend in a long time that I was able to get some stuff completed and didn't completely freak out. Our centerpieces are nailed down, the wedding favors are complete, and my veil came in. As small as it is it actually looks really sweet with my dress and doesn't take anything away from it. It's finally coming together. I still need to finish up a few things but I think we're doing ok. 6 weeks to go! How are things coming along for you?

Centerpieces are done just need the flowers, favors are ordered, my veil is at the post office, we still have to finish paying off most vendors, FH still needs his shirt and shoes(whyyyy!!), I need to finish two DIY projects(possibly a third) and my dress still isn’t finished! We still have some alterations to do too, but she found someone to take care of it in time. I just need to figure out what I'm going to do with my hair, but she just found someone to do that too. I kind of wish we had a DOC but I can't see spending that much money on it. At least our caterer said he and his partner would take care of moving the chairs from the ceremony area to the reception, help with the cupcakes, and might even have a chance to help pop the champagne bottles. I luckily work on a computer all day and can get a lot done from here (I just emailed the rental vendor and got our final invoice!), but the hands on stuff suffered for too long.

BUT, I realized that I had a lot more done than I thought, I just needed to complete a few minor things so it could be checked off the list. My other dilemma is the two ceremonies things. Trying to get it all organized so I don't have to stress too much on those days is taking a lot of effort. Remember to breathe! We got this!!!

View Quoted Comment Luckily we found a good seamstress our first try, we took a serious gamble(like barely any reviews) but she’s great and fabulous, my dress just had to have a lot of alterations, it was so busted up from being a sample gown!
My regular stylist is just doing my hair, she’s the only person on this green earth that can turn my flat thin hair into voluminous curls, but then FH needs his hair done! He wants it silver, I’m like well you better send her photos then! It takes time to lighten hair to silver. 😖
Yeah I can’t see spending the money on a DOC too, our caterer is like this super sweet lady that offered to help us set up and even take us shopping with her Costco card for beverages, she’s a life saver. This is so hard on you’re own.
I know we’ve got this but man I wish I could just throw money at everything to get it done faster, the deadline is stressful. Lol can we go back to the early stages of “maybe someday” just looking at dresses planning? Not the “My caterer needs a final guest count and no one’s RSVing yet” planning.

My veil’s here! I look so bridal in my sweats.
