Hey everyone. My dress came in! And I was excited but...I'm actually really upset. I know I gained weight, but I didn't think this much. I probably gained about 10 pounds and stopped working out. I am currently in the process of eating healthier again and working out. However, my wedding is March 31st and my first alterations appointment is February 6th. She did say that more can be taken in even after the first alterations appointment, but I'm not sure if in two 1/2ish months I can pull off this much weight loss. Both dresses are of the same size and nothing is different - except the dress was hemmed by the designer to match my height before it came to the store so length was chopped off. She said the sample dress was stretched out from all the try ons from the other brides, but I still feel like a busted can of biscuits. Originally, a lot had to be taken in in the hip area and a little in the waist, and now there is no extra material and no clips had to be used! It might even have to be let out a little if I don't lose this weight. I was in complete shock. Could the sample have stretched out that much?? Blah, I'm so upset and I tried making myself happy by trying on some accessories I liked, but I still felt like complete crap. It doesn't even feel like the same dress. I'm not here to fish for compliments, I just need some motivation and to see if in two months I can shed some pounds.

That happened to me as well. Just eat better. I lost 4 lbs just eating less and better. I tried my dress and it doesn't close. And to make things more stressful it's very difficult to sit down. My wedding is in 15 days. Just keep working hard you can do it and just be aware.

You can totally lose enough. In the mean time, put on two pairs of Spanx the next time you try it on.

Yes, I was considering it but the back dips low and is cut out kind of. You’d definitely be able to see it.

You look fabulous!! You can definitely lose 10 pounds in two months if it will make you feel better! I would recommend drinking 90 ounces of water a day. It will help your body functions, help you lose weight and it will keep you hydrated. Also, I recommend a vegan diet. I eat 5 to 6 small snack sized meals a day. Doing this helps your metabolism burning all day long. Think of it like feeding a fireplace to keep the embers burning steady. Good luckSmiley smile

The holidays are rough for everyone's waistline line. And I do think the sample was stretch some. Very common. I bet you can lose 5 # easy.

A lot of the weight is probably bloat from the holidays. Clean up your eating and get in some cardio and it should come off. Also, sample dresses can be stretched out because of the number of people trying it on. So they may be the exact same size but fit differently because of that.

Can bloat really contribute to the dress fitting me that snug? And that is true, but even if I lose weight I'm not sure it will fit like that especially when it was stretched. :/

I know how you feel. Not exactly the same, but just yesterday I had a change of heart about my wedding dress. (I had never really loved it, I had bought it mostly for the inexpensive price tag.) I went to the store for my fitting; and looking at myself in the mirror as the seamstress placed pins, I just hated how it looked on me. I felt locked into the dress because of the return policy, and I felt like a diva for wanting to change my mind about it. But I talked it over with my FH and we decided together that it was an important enough component of the wedding to see what we could do about finding a replacement dress. Cut to the ending: I was able to do an even exchange for a dress that I love. All that to say, I know you've already paid for it to be hemmed but at least bring it up with the store manager and see if there's anything that can be done. If not, consider selling it. Or if you still love it, resolve to lose a few pounds. There's always more than one solution. Bottom line: on your wedding day, you want to feel beautiful, so don't settle for a dress that makes you feel anything less than that. Good luck and congratulations on there upcoming wedding!

I've been doing the ketogenic diet and I literally lost 8lbs just this week alone. You lose weight faster because you're cutting out carbs/sugar so it goes kindof quick. I'd give it a whirl!

It was just the holidays, its like near impossible not to indulge! You will be surprised how quickly you will lose weight if you drink more water and just watch what you eat like you had been doing.

You really think it was only that? I feel like I went from looking slim and beautiful in the dress to a busted can of biscuits in the dress. I hate the holidays! lol

It looks a bit snug, but it's nothing crazy and you look beautiful! It's a gorgeous dress! And YES the samples can be that stretched out. To give you some perspective, my dress sample was a size 4 and was tight but not uncomfortable by any means and I am NOT a size 4 in wedding dresses. I'm a street size 6 in pants and they ordered my dress in a 10. They look brand new but they are definitely stretched out!

    Ignore the scale.
Do planks 3 times a day
    and side planks
    and push-ups
    and tricep dips
i did just those things and cut my portions a teeny bit(mainly just exercised)
and I lost a pant size in 6 weeks
I didn’t lose any weight just inches!

Oh wow, that's crazy. They also measured me too and compared it to the designer's measurement chart and it still had me at this size...it is definitely stretched but more so weight gain unfortunately.

Defenetly don't drink your calories (juice, milk, beer & wine). Just out all processed foods & added sugars. Just say "no" to simple starches (bread, rice, white potatoes, etc.) and focus on keeping calories to a heathly minimum. Lots of water!

I'd trust your alterations lady's judgment, but do focus on your health. The holidays haven't been kind to my figure either. We can do this!

I second this. You don't look bad at all! I just know how you feel when you can tell a dress is just a wee bit too snug. You do look fab tho!

Thank you 😊. I’m just one of those unlucky gals that gains all their weight all in their tummies/midsection. My chest has also gotten bigger. I’ll lose this weight. I know I can do it.
