My dream wedding dress finally arrived after 7 months (Martina Liana). It took 2 people at the boutique to get me buttoned in the dress. I got the size they recommended (4). I haven’t gained any weight. I’m so upset, the store owner insisted it fit and sent me home. I went to my moms and she was...
My dream wedding dress finally arrived after 7 months (Martina Liana). It took 2 people at the boutique to get me buttoned in the dress. I got the size they recommended (4). I haven’t gained any weight. I’m so upset, the store owner insisted it fit and sent me home. I went to my moms and she was unable to get me in the dress, she thinks it’s about an inch too tight in the bust. The top of my dress is delicate and I’m scared it can’t be altered. I just want to cry... I’m going to see a seamstress this week. Wish me luck! cfb_1422981.jpg

The dress is beautiful!! If you don't feel comfortable in it then say something...you're paying a lot of money to be happy and confident! Say something

Any reputable line leaves at least 1/2 inch extra available in each side seam allowance, from which you can get 1 1/4 " to 1.5 room. where the fabric is too fragile, it can be opened at the side seam under each arm, and a narrow V of fabric used, a strip taken from a seam or hem. That little is not a problem.

Hello there when I first ordered my dress they told me it would come in fitting me smaller since the dress would be new and it wouldn't be stretched out from multiple brides trying it on so they suggested for me to go up a size but I told them no that I still planned on losing weight. And now its at a tailoring place getting taken in because thankfully it fits me big since I lost the extra weight. At the time I ordered my dress I was a size 8 in jeans and the dress size I ordered was a 12 and it fit me pretty perfect so im surprised they didn't tell you to go up a size.

You need to go back and insist that they remeasure you to compare them with the time it was ordered, then if the measurements are the same they will have no choice but to fix it. If they have changed a bit, then it will be up to you and the seamstress to come up with a game plan. Measurements can change slightly even if the scale indicates your weight hasn’t changed. Since the dress does zip, my guess would be that there will be enough material to let it out some and it would feel better. Try not to panic! I’ve seen a lot of dresses not fit, and this isn’t bad at all. It’s workable! Definitely check on those measurements sooner rather than later.
