My diy project of the night!

Stephanie, on December 5, 2018 at 10:05 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 18
My DIY project of the night! I had some downtime after the kids all were put in bed, and banged out two of the multiple signs I’ve got to make! These are our welcome sign and our dessert bar sign! I’m thinking about adding some color to the dessert bar sign, but I’m pretty excited with how they turned out so far!! Next up, program sign, bar sign, and menu!

Thanks! I did, I printed up and sized the words on printer paper first, then traced them into the chalkboard using a pen and graphite paper!

Graphite paper and other transfer papers you can place your printout of your words on top of the chalkboard and literally just use a pencil to go over the edges and it leaves the graphite or chalk onto the surface of your chalkboard.
    Hope that helps

Stephanie, these look awesome!!! I love the font of your names, so pretty!! I think a pop of color on the dessert sign will look great! You did so good, can't wait to see how the other signs turn out!!

The graphite paper can be found at any craft store, near the art supplies! It was a little tedious, and didn’t always transfer super visibly, but still way better than paying someone to do it I think! It took some expierementing to get the words the right size on my printer paper, but I just laid them all out to make sure they fit right! Then I cut the printer paper words up by word, or phrase if they fit, and traced over the graphite paper. Then I used a chalk paint pen to trace the outline. It was time consuming but just banged them out in the time I had after my kids went to bed. It wasn’t horrible!
