My dad said at least he is being "courteous"?

mary, on October 29, 2019 at 6:48 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
So I'm having a traditional wedding and had a heck of a time finding a choir. One guy (a choir director) was super enthusiastic about using his choir for my wedding. I left all my info w/him and got his contact info as well. After multiple calls and messages, there was no response. So frustrating and gave me a bad impression as I can't rely on him to fulfill a commitment. He finally contacted me today, 2 months later and 3 weeks before my wedding. What the heck?! He answers now? Btw I already have that taken of after much stress and flakey people. My dad said not to be rude, that at least he was courteous about giving me a call. Courteous to me is taking a week/2 tops to let me know what is going on. Am I being negative or people hating?

I mean, it's annoying for sure. But if he's agreeing to what you ask and you don't have anything else in place, i'd suck it up so i could have the choir. But that's just me.

Thing is though I found another choir (thankfully). That incident leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Since nothing was set in stone (since I couldn't get ahold of him), I didn't even know if he do it or not.

No way I would book these people. If they can’t call you back in a timely manner, they can’t be trusted to show up for your big day.

He was not being courteous. Not in any way, shape for form. He was unprofessional for sure

I think he was just trying to save himself from a negative review

That's not curteous at all. I would tell him that due to his lack of communication, you booked a diffrent choir. Then thank him

Courteous would be replying in a timely and professional manner. He was rude to reply that late!

Then I would just be polite, but firm. Respond to him via email if possible and say something like "unfortunately, since we didn't hear from you for 3 weeks, we booked another choir. thank you for your time".

Pointing out their mistake, but not going overboard into rude.
