My alterations seamstress has been showing off my dress

Mine has done the same!! She was texting me asking where I got the flower girl dresses because people were asking about those as well. It is a little strange but I appreciate that my dress hasn’t been bagged up ever.

She knows my dress was a sample and ever since she repaired all the damage it’s been on display in front of the shop window and she wants a bunch of photos of it to put on her facebook.
Like I said she deserves the credit. My dress had a lot of tears in the tulle that she fixed like they were never there! The corset she added is impeccable, the color is an exact match. She even had her husband take it home and help her work on it. I know she deserves more recognition for her shop(barely any reviews, I took a gamble)

I’m just really shy and feel a little embarrassed people are asking about where I bought it and how much it costs. It doesn’t really feel good? I’m flattered she’s proud of her work but I don’t feel flattered strangers want the specs on my dress. Am I being weird?

I found out that when I’ve tried my dress back on at the bridal salon they keep me upstairs in the bridal showroom. My FW said they made her go to the alterations department to try hers on. FW thinks it’s special treatment for me but I’m not sure. Maybe they do have special treatment for certain brides? I would think that they would treat everyone the same but maybe not. Congrats on your beautiful dress and I’m happy you and your seamstress are happy!

She seemed like she knew a lot about the designer but at first I chalked it up to her profession, isn’t it her job to know a lot about wedding dresses? But after the second appointment it’s clear she just actually likes that dress.

You got me curious on what your dress looks like. May I see a picture of the dress?

I would be flattered, I would be hurt if no one complimented my dress.

I would love to walk in the shop and see my dress on display or hear about it being fawned over. As long as my FH didn't see it, I wouldn't mind. Mine has been made by a local designer, and I am definitely giving her a photo from the wedding because she did a phenomenal job.

I think that would be awesome. FH is the only one I don't want to see it, so if random people happen to see and like it, it would only make me feel better about my decision.

Mine’s the pink version. All I can think of is she’s just super proud of her repair work or she likes that designer a lot. These horsehair skirts are pretty popular right now from multiple designers.

I’m actually the opposite. FH was there when he bought my dress, he’s seen it countless times and he’s going to help me into it. I definitely wanted his opinion and help with my dress! I don’t mind if people look at my dress but I’m a generally shy, private person.

I got my dress a long time ago when we were planning a wedding but a car accident put our plans on hold for like a year! When I got the dress it fit, then I tried it on this year and it didn't. I didn’t feel pretty in my dress.
My seamstress made it fit! With a beautiful corset and she’s still going to add little things. Maybe my weird negative feelings are more towards how I used to feel in the dress.
I’ll try to think of it as an affirmation that my dress was the right one all along.

I’ll reply to you again on Tuesday with pics! I wanted to take them last fitting but I had to hold my dress up while she fitted cups, then she didn’t have my cup size so she has to order them. I really want to take pics anyway for my OOT mom.
