Our wedding day was Tuesday, February 9, 2021. We were married in a private ceremony at the Foxtail Estate in Daytona Beach, FL.
Venue: The Foxtail Estate, Daytona Beach
Photographer: Ohlson Photography
Cake: Delectable Delights Baker
Flowers: Zahn’ Florist (would probably not recommend)
Officiant: Melissa Franz
Processional: Fields of Gold by Dallas String Quartet
Dress: Calvin Klein at Macy’s
Her Ring: HelloRing on Etsy
His Ring: RCornejoJewelry on Etsy
Budget: Under $3000 for everything including the announcements for family, marriage license and dinner after.
We chose an elopement and it made for such a relaxing day. The venue arranged everything with the photographer, officiant, baker and florist – I worked with them ahead of time to personalize but there was nothing for me to do the day of but get myself ready. I feel that this was a nice upgrade to a courthouse wedding – it still felt special and like a wedding but without all the extras or the stress of guests. Between a fear of being in front of people and COVID unpredictably cancelling anything with groups of more than 10, we felt this was the best way to make our commitment without fear of losing money or having to reschedule repeatedly.
We discussed, from the start, that we wanted to the day to feel as special and important as it is while keeping the focus firmly on the marriage and not the wedding. I think we achieved that fairly well and, while some family members were a bit disappointed, most were thrilled and we know we made the right choice for us.
