My family is Jamaican and Cuban so I will be staying away from any songs that encourage “twerking” or overtly sexual dances as they cannot be trusted to behave. My FH Family is Italian and German and it will probably be quite the culture shock for them 😂.

****% this! Also asking for everything to be clean. I am not sure, but I think we are going to shoot for old school tunes. Those seem to be the most likely to get a variety of people up and grooving Smiley smile

A few years ago we went to a lobster pound in Maine and the place had these well known songs in a different style ... almost Big Band like... when we asked about it, the owner said older people love the “music” and the younger love the “lyrics” - Scott Bradley’s Postmodern Jukebox - we love it, it has an old timer feel with songs of today.

Definitely agree no objectionable music!! We’re playing contemporary instrumental jazz and blues, classic Motown and R&B love songs, plus a few favorites of ours. My fiancé is a huge blues fan. Wedding song is “At Last” but he wants the Beyoncé version, I want the original by Etta James.

I have no idea. That’s my FH’s responsibility. He is on the catering and the music because he is a chef and a drummer in a band. LOL I stay out of cooking and music decisions.

I am walking down the isle to "the Keeper of the Stars" by Tracy Bryd and our first dance will be to "Look at you Girl" by Chris Ledoux. We are big country fans, but we are gunna have the DJ play all genres so everyone is happy.
