How hands on were/are you with the music for the reception?

I provided our DJ with a "guide" of genres I'd like to hear at different points of the reception, with some song examples. But I told our DJ that I ultimately trusted her professional experience. Other than that, we chose specific songs for: grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, and last song.

We were originally planning to use Spotify and ended up hiring a DJ. He gave us a packet to fill out with all the details and told me I was “very thorough” lol I had lists of songs we were going to use for Spotify so I just gave them to him as a good guideline of what we like. We also chose the grand entrance song, ceremony music, fist dances etc.

Super hands on! We are on a tight budget so we decided to create an Apple Music playlist for our reception and then have someone just hit play and pause as needed.

We were very hands on. My husband is a huge music buff, and our tastes are eclectic. We gave our DJ a list of about 40 songs.

Pretty hands on- my FH and I created our own playlists. We would take turns picking songs and the other had a chance to veto them.

I plan to be hands on. Hopefully we get enough song requests in our RSVPs to fill up a good chunk of time. I know I'll have to put do not play list artists (which is probably a lot of rap). If we don't get a lot of requests I am going to compile good dancing songs I know are fun.
